  13. Are you one of those people who are so unused to mince pies, that you forget that you've got a couple of boxes in the cupboard, when you are scratching your head, wondering what to have with your after-dinner cup of tea? And isn't it nice to realise that they are there, just waiting for you to eat them! :-))

Mine never get as far as the cupboard. Always eat them too quickly. Mind you the shop one are rubbish compared to the ones my mum used to make. She died in 1996 and I haven't enjoyed my mince pies as much since then!

  14. Why is it that banks always have loads of people swanning around looking important but actually doing sweet nothing, whilst long queues form due to insufficient tills being manned. Of course, my time isn't important, so that's OK then...

I was third in the queue this morning with two tills open and my cousin opening up a third. When she was ready for the first customer, it was me!

  18. I do like the 'Like this' button on individual posts, so much easier and concise than posting 'I agree!' or 'me too!'... However, seeing so many posts that seem to carp on about relatively minor issues on otherwise fantastic new models, makes me want to ask for a 'Don't like this' button.... ;-)

  22. Fascinating, the period of time immediately before a much-awaited release hits the shops - loads of folk on tenterhooks, scanning the horizon for the first possible sighting! Then there's the frenzy as those who are really keen to get their hands on the new goodies do so, and then.... well, it all goes quiet and no one really gets too excited if the rest of us quietly pick one of these items up a few months later!... ;-)
