  1. Now I understand! I normally use the 'mobile' theme because its quicker, but signatures only come up in the 'RMweb 2106' theme. Any way I've given your post a 'like'. Regards
  2. Thank you for the gen. I did so click but there was no info there about Shapeways. Took a look at your Shapeways page, there's lots of nice stuff there! Regards
  3. Just out of interest, could you give your Shapeways webpage, please. Regards
  4. I'm sure it does, can't possibly imagine that the opposite would be the case. The last photo though (which I didn't manage to reproduce, sorry) does, I think, show one of the issues with 3D Printing. That is that the designers, in their efforts to give their customer a complete kit for ease of assembly, forget that there is a lot of cleaning up to do with a 3D part and all the detail gets in the way of this very necessary process. I can't help but think that if this kit, and others like it, were supplied in bits for the customer to assemble, ie cab, boiler/firebox/smoke box, side tanks etc it would be much easier to clean up the 'bobbles' which seem to be such a feature of the surface texture of 3D Printing. Regards
  5. Please use capitation and take a look at your grammar. Your posts are very informative but difficult to read. Regards
  6. I'll be in Manchester in a fortnight, it'll be interesting to take a look at these transformations. Regards
  7. The first release has issues with the side grills, have these been resolved in this version? Regards
  8. Interesting method of getting the finish right! What tool do you use as an aid to sanding? Thanks
  9. I can remember, though not too distinctly, when I had that sort of energy. Nice project, enjoying the thread. Regards
  10. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but I thought that the BR3 Moguls and Prairies shared the same GWR inspired boiler, while the BR4 4-6-0 and 2-6-4T boilers weren't quite identical because the 4-6-0's needed to be a bit longer. The BR4 Mogul and the Ivatt Mogul had very similar boilers but they weren't interchangeable. Anyway, that's my tupenneth. Regards
  11. I thought he was deceased! Perhaps he's doing it for St Peter.
  12. I thought it was about jet engines.
  13. Last August I spent a couple of hours at Barnetby, most enjoyable. The Drax trains comprised of a 66 and fourteen wagons which could be an expensive train to model! Regards
  14. I believe that 'Scotsman''s nameplates were retained by its former owner when the locomotive was sold to the NRM. However, because he had broken the link with the engine and had no further proof that they were the originals the nameplates are regarded as a little iffy on the collectors market. Provenance is all! Regards
  15. Thank you for that. The only copy of 'Dawn of the Diesel Age' I could find was $68 plus postage so I have bought copy of the Soloman for $2.99! Mind you the postage is $18! The package is expected to arrive between the first week of March and the first week of April. Looking forward to it but not to much! Regards
  16. Just bought one! See http://www.amazon.co.uk/Internal-Combustion-Locomotive-1894-1940-locomotive/dp/0715361155 . The new example at £999.11 wasn't the one I bought! Regards
  17. I spent two hours at Cogload Junction last August and was amazed to find that Class 150s are used in the Cardiff-Plymouth services. It takes four hours for the full journey! Regards
  18. Does anybody know the wheel diameter and number of spokes for the prototype? Thanks Regards
  19. Thank you for that. I looked the loco up in my 1959 Combined Volume, clearly I got the wrong one. Will you be making the wheel overlay available? I bought this RTR loco not imagining the problems with wheels, a way out would be appreciated. Also I must make a note not to splash out in the future until the matter has been researched properly! I must say that I'm most impressed with 'Porcy Mane''s lathe work, but those sort of skills are not available to most RMwebbers, we need a simpler, less technical, approach. Regards
  20. AGW does a wheel which might do even if it isn't a perfect match http://www.alangibsonworkshop.com/Catalogue.pdf 4839G 3' 3.5" 13.0mm. 10 spoke Industrial Garratt Plain PB 11" 3.66mm Regards
