  1. Would it not be possible in future to have a P4 specific version for pre-order only and charge extra for it? Regards
  2. Thanks for the replies, most appreciated. Regards
  3. Excuse the ignorance, but are these wagons still in service. I've looked on the web and it's ambiguous. There is a reference to withdrawals in 2006 but that's it. Regards
  4. I spoke to one of the blokes manning the Kernow stand at Swindon today and the pick-ups for this model are via split axles. This means that the illustrations in the post above don't match the 02. It also means, I think, that unless one of the two finescale wheel suppliers do the biz a conversion to P4 is going to be difficult. EM might be alright if it's possible to pull the wheels out a little, but I think P4 is beyond my capabilities for certain. Regrets ...
  5. I'm glad I'm retired! Having that experience before and after a day's work just cannot be good. Firms should be encouraged to move out of cities, particularly London. Those in London should be further encouraged to move north for a better lifestyle. Travelling like this cannot be healthy. Regards
  6. Thank you for that, but I'm a little unsure of just what model your photos illustrate. Are these photos of an 'undecorated' 02? Regards
  7. In steam days they were generally hauled or pushed by Class 2 tender engines. Fowlers and Ivatts were the favourite on the LMR. Regards
  8. This is true, I've done it myself. The issue here though is that there doesn't seem to be room for P4 wheelsets. It also seems to be true that possible conversions were ruled out at the design stage, which is a pity. Never mind; a simple commercial decision on Kernow's part. I won't be buying one. Regards
  9. Thanks for that. It doesn't look to be possible to do a conversion. Regards
  10. Just catching up on the thread. Has anyone tried converting to P4? Regards
  11. My experience of 'commercial ' as apposed to club or society shows is that they tend to have poor trade support (Dakota Dibbens stand is the classic example it's awful) and layouts of variable standard; quite often very variable standard. As a result I just don't go. If everybody on RMweb did the same then there's a good chance these dreadfully exploitative shows would just disappear.
  12. I bought a body from 'Richard's Spares', chassis from Comet, wheels etc from AGW and then put these bits in box which went in a larger box and is now in the loft! Somewhere!
  13. If and when Ultrascale do the wheels then I shall buy one. Until then I really don't see the point.
  14. Yes they do! Thank you for that, Cat No CH25. http://247developments.co.uk/loco_detailing.html Regards
  15. I get the impression that replacement chimneys are not available anymore. I know that Comet did one but it has been removed from the catalogue. Is my impression true? Regards
  16. Our next meeting will be at St Andrews Church on Monday 22nd August starting at 8pm as usual. This meeting is one of those brought forward by a week because of a Bank Holiday and it will be a modelling evening with the test track available for use. The new NLG web site is now available see http://thenlg.org.uk/ . The rest of the programme for 2016 can be found on the website but for convenience it is as below:- 26 September Talk – Jim Summers: 'Modern Prototype Signal Control Systems' 24 October Modelling workshop 28 November Film night 19 December Christmas social evening The new newsletter is attached NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2016.pdf Hope to see some RMwebbers there! Regards
  17. I think conversion to trams would be a great idea. Get those cars off the road and massively improve public transport for the residents.
  18. Thanks for that. RTT has these trains down as dmus. I'll give it a go tomorrow. Thanks a lot.
  19. Thank you for that. I wonder if the Lindsey-Heathrow trains will continue to run. Regards
  20. Thank you for those Michael, as a small child I used to do my spotting from the platform at Northenden. Then I passed the Cycle Proficiency Test and the world was my oyster! Regards
  21. Where does the pipeline go to? Presumably trains can start from there.
  22. There are a few on Amazon, just bought one.
