  1. 86005 departs Hardendale Quarry with a train of empty tanks for Runcorn, 12 May 1984. Not sure what the tanks would have conveyed, maybe CO2?

  3. Quite a few of the scenes remind me of the film "A line for all Seasons" though from memory that was done in the very early 70's.
  4. As I understand it, Sinfin have changed their supplier in Scotland and the new supplier is using DBC. The tanks will be coming via ECML to Doncaster, but as a separate train, as there aren't any Anglo-Scottish freight services via the ECML. There's a suggestion that the Mossend - Doncaster leg will be electrically hauled, then diesel forward to Sinfin. Hope this helps. Douglas

  17. Which is why people from South Shields are known as "sand dancers" Douglas
  18. Delivered to another terminal (Walsall) at customers request. Douglas
  19. Re; the failed delivery on the 9th, this was caused by the low loader that brings in the digger breaking down en route, so the crew ran out of hours. No wagons were discharged, the reason 3 wagons were left behind is that the whole train was too heavy to return to Dowlow. Hope this helps, Douglas
  20. Many thanks to Greg & Paul for your very helpful replies. I finally get my hands on the model next week (birthday present), really looking forward to it. By the way Greg, I think you and I have the same employer ! Douglas
  21. Anyone looked at re-gauging to EM or P4 yet, my D842 is en route as I type. Douglas
  22. Very pleased to see this announcement, always fancied a train of these hoppers. Would I be right in thinking that for the immediate pre-TOPS period (early 70's), it's the IC0003 variant I'd need in terms of livery, battleship grey bodies, frame & bogies? Thanks in advance Douglas
  23. Mine arrived yesterday while I was out, so I will have to wait until Monday morning to collect from the P.O. From the pix I've seen on here it looks a beaut. I'd like to populate the interior, has anyone managed to get the body off yet? With the water pipes on each end it looks as if it might be a little tricky. Douglas
