  1. Rails have announced some more 26s to preorder, green, civil, blue and railfreight.
  2. I think the bogies are a couple of mm too far towards the middle of the loco.
  3. Oh no, the more I look the more inaccuracies I see, the handrail beneath the front window is a little too low, the head code panels seem too big, the footsteps are too close together, the roof profile has a steep curve then flattens out, the footsteps on the bogies don't align with the cab doors. It looks like the body is designed as a cut cab version with the missing pieces at the cab ends fitted as separate parts. I hope this is not the finished version because it's all over the place.
  4. Thanks for posting these, I have a feeling Bachmann won't be too worried about this model.
  5. It's a lovely model Roy, I hope they go on to do the blue with white roof 47/7 version, maybe a flush fronter like 47701.
  6. How about a bit of modelling? I purchased another 47012 with sound for an unbelievable price and changed the headcodes. I bought two 47832 bodies for £15 each and cut out the headcodes from the no 1 ends.
  7. And seem happy to run on narrow gauge track
  8. It's a beautiful autumn Sunday here in Scunthorpe today.
  9. Thanks, but it's another £15
  10. Wether the ETH is in the bag or fitted to the loco is not a deal breaker for me but having said that I do have a 47435 on order from TMC with value weathering so I would hope there fitted or I will end up with bright orange plugs on a grimy loco.
  11. I wonder why they chose to have the roof aerials on this model, it didn't have them when it was ex works in 1985. I think it may have been re-painted around 1990/1 but in any case the aerials are similar to the class 56 on the real loco.
  12. Thanks, maybe it only appealed to a limited number of modellers, it will be interesting to see how 47435 sells, I may hold back on that one and see if the prices fall.
  13. With the 47012 seemingly hanging around in the shops I have bought 2 more examples at a reasonable price, a sound fitted for £250 and a DCC ready for £160. Then regret kicked in wondering what to do with them so a trip to halfords was made and I came away with a tin of racking grey paint. So, this is the result of a couple of hours work, 47160 of Haymarket depot and I have also 47155 of Stratford (not pictured). I was intending buying a couple of 47003s to renumber but I am really pleased how these turned out, so probably saved myself a few pounds.
  14. I kind of agree, it's like opening your car bonnet and then the manufacturer saying you've invalidated the 3 year warranty.
  15. Hi, I also recently purchased a 122 and it was a terrible runner, stuttering then surging and making a strange noise, it was returned the next day.
  16. Be very careful, if I remember correctly the paint is really thin and you'll be seeing the yellow bodyshell in no time.
  17. I had some transfers delivered yesterday, over a month since ordering so that seems a good result after everybody else's experiences.
  18. Yes the 47 V1 had wobbly bogies, class 57 bogie frames and boiler tanks and rivets on the window frames. v2 came out around 2008?
  19. I bought a second Bachmann 47012, mainly because it was at an attractive price, so luckily I found out that the numbers come off really easily. I dabbed a little white spirit onto the numbers and left for 30 seconds then gentle worked them with a cocktail stick and the numbers turned in to a white paste that just wiped off. So I chose 47007 because it was ex works in April 1981 and stratford didn't get around to painting the grey roof until the following year. The transfers are rub down, slightly smaller than bachmanns printed numbers.
