  1. Yes, there were definitely ex-Strathclyde units used in the area in both the Orange & Brown and the Blue SPT liveries. Strathclyde At Manchester Piccadilly. by Neil Harvey 156, on Flickr 101692 by Steve Jones, on Flickr 101s Manchester Piccadilly by Andy K, on Flickr
  2. There is this picture from 1985 with what looks like a Newton Chambers Car Carrier in the Milk Dock, so the Motorail traffic must have lasted at least until then. 31 159 on the Motorail shunt at London Kings Cross. 25/05/85. by Adrian Nicholls, on Flickr
  3. Was Platform 10 regularly used for stabling locos or was that just a one off? I have noticed that when it still existed, that the suburban platform 13 often had a loco stabled on it.

    Dapol 08

Wow, I genuinely thought that was a picture of a real one at first!
  5. But Dapol produced the 00 version as well..
  6. They were just trying to work how much it weighs.
  7. 76-0242A by Christopher Yapp, on Flickr I do hope that the CPC version includes the teddy bear shown in these pictures. https://flic.kr/p/v8nYoA https://flic.kr/p/v5Yd7X
  8. I guess that's because you'll need somewhere to run the Class 76 model that you are going to produce?
  9. Could it be this short feature from the Six O'Clock News in 1987? Either way there's an interesting shot of a LL 37 with two MK1s and a BG which looks very modellable.
  10. In the first picture it looks like no one took any notice of the warning about not loose or hump shunting!
  11. There's the Telford Steam Railway at Horsehay although I don't think anything will be running at this time of year.
  12. I've been looking for a good price on a Graham Farish Class 55 in Rail Blue and I noticed that The Model Centre is selling them for £89.99 which is £16 cheaper than Hattons. https://www.themodelcentre.com/371-287/
  13. Perhaps you could just have the oil tanks painted on the backscene or have them portrayed in "half relief" with some of the sidings disappearing behind them into a hidden fiddle yard?
  14. I've also found this interesting short film about the history of the train which judging by the power pickup system seems to have been designed by someone who had a Scalextric set when they were a child. http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/cambridgeshires-space-age-hovertrain-float-12605298
  15. I seem to remember that being featured in the Magpie Book of Trains that I had in the 1970s.
  16. I was going to suggest that you purchase something called an OTG USB cable that will allow you to access USB hard drives on Android phones, but it seems that the iPhone doesn't support the OTG protocol for some reason.
  17. I've seen some great pictures of one shunting at CPC at Trafford Park in the 70s, so I'm really pleased that you are producing that version! Is there any chance of you also producing one as Tiny 2258 as preserved at Dinting Railway Centre in the 70s? 18. I've just noticed that Dapol have posted a picture of the EP sample of the HAA on their home page. https://www.Dapol.co.uk/
  19. Try the controllers from the Farish/Bachmann trains sets, as they are surprisingly good for what you pay for them.
  20. It would also have made extending the Metrolink into Stockport a hell of a lot easier/cheaper.
  21. Is it really good news though? I do wonder if there is a connection between the delays in it's own products and the fact that it has been making models for other people?
  22. I hope that your version also comes with a lifebuoy!

  24. That's another great photo Paul, especially as it shows how that area of KX had been abandoned by this time apart from the West Sidings.
  25. Here's some more pictures of the area that I've found on Flickr. 31 159 on the Motorail shunt at London Kings Cross. 25/05/85. by Adrian Nicholls, on Flickr Class 31, Kings Cross by nigelmenzies, on Flickr Kings Cross platform 9 3/4 by David Flett, on Flickr Classes 31 and 47 Kings Cross Loco Jul75-p18masfdqk1mo37j3dckocc82t by Alan Rintoul, on Flickr Kings Cross Parcel Sidings by Warsop 37, on Flickr gb_760811_31407KX copy by MUTTLEY'S PIX, on Flickr 31xxx | Kings Cross [1983-002-005] by Brian McCulloch, on Flickr Kings Cross Interregnum by brentford40, on Flickr Peak, Kings X by Will Welch, on Flickr Kings Cross 7 September 1976 by davelindsell, on Flickr
