  1. You could just disconnect the drive shafts from the motor in the NDM.
  2. Those front wings/headlamp shapes definitely aren’t Healey. Could be a Lea-Francis, problem is there were plenty of small makers sports cars around post war and some only made a few. edit: actually looking at the bonnet/grill surround looks too low
  3. Is there room in the bunker for a bigger speaker?
  4. Quite a few shops have the sets in now advertising with discount.
  5. Don’t know what’s going on with the slow site at the moment but almost every time I post it gets double posted, and takes ages before it uploads.
  6. Our pheasants chase the cats away, our neighbour has two cats one a big old grey who stalks the birds and squirrels all the time but when Phil is around the cat just sits there staring until Phil rears up opens his wings and gives that awful screech that pheasants do, cats disappears in a flash
  7. The motor is centrally mounted I believe so would assume that bogie smoking was just a ventilation hole with least resistance.
  8. I suppose “fortunately” it was going to get a lot of weathering regardless, after seeing many frames from the film Sid’s ride looked almost black with crude, much as the pristine red engine direct from Oxford was a lovely little model it would have looked completely out of character doing what it should be doing. Anyway it’s now nasty green, will be getting a coal load later and the tyres need to be toned down to a well worn grey I think….and then weathered once more…..after all this it’ll look like a lump of mud on the layout
  9. This is one of “ours” this morning……his name is Phil and getting very old now, but still happy.
  10. What a pr@tt…….it’s OK Andy I mean me……guess what, I bought the Ayling Porter traction engine from Oxford diecast and it arrived today and it’s going to be perfect……once I changed it from RED to GREEN….yes…..when I ordered I forgot it needed to be green……..well it’s been a busy evening so far, at least now it is green with a black flywheel and I need to do a bit more touch ups to it (tyres etc) and when it’s finished it’ll look almost good What a PR@TT.
  11. Although I did notice when we first moved here I noticed there are very, very few cyclists, even during the Summer when everyone and their dog and cat are here, I put it down to the hills….even dedicated Lycra clad peddlers seem to shun the area.
  12. Even the one stuck out in the diminishing lane at the end was a bit of a tw@t to get stuck like that, as for the first driver…..I have no words.
  13. Your lucky then, around here in most of the lanes your skinny Dellow would still be breaking the new rules passing a sicklist.
  14. So have I and I also bought the new NDM a while ago to replace the original powered car as that’s really the big improvement to the set IMO, just going to change the couplings. As an aside I chipped the NDM and it whizzes around my smallish layout at full speed without issue at all….all by itself at the moment.
  15. Depends if you bought it to use or as an investment
  16. Just found some videos online of the Roco smoke, it’s definitely oil based and has that “stringy” effect which just doesn’t look right to me, also I noticed they have tried to get it chuffing but the sync is completely wrong.
  17. I presume it still uses an oil based solution?
  18. Would be nice if he was, but as they aren’t doing the road roller I am being pro-active
  19. I almost wish we hadn’t sold all our LGB stuff about ten years ago now, looking at advances in sound and steam coming it would have given them a new lease of life, then again I did keep two starter sets, just in case
  20. Yes I noticed that on rerunning the video, hopefully it’s just a one off thing with the test Loco.
  21. Exactly yes, just something I noticed….I pointed it out in case it was just something on the “unfinished” mule making the noise and not a fault with the sound.
  22. I have luckily found a figure that came with a pack of cows (farmer) which is wearing the same type of hat and all I have to do is paint him in the correct khaki and grey, and he even has a puzzled pose, perfect I hope.
