  1. Amazing how many people comment on an article and the comments make it obvious that they haven't read it... Andi
  2. Dagworth

    Class 58

I've got a twin motored Hornby one with a huge lump of weight filling the centre of the body. It's the single most powerful loco I own, will shift dead Heljan 58s with ease! It also hauled 140+ HAAs around Ravensclyffe, nothing else has been able to match it Andi
  3. I like that all those drinks cans are upside down with paper printed labels from the period Andi
  4. 370006 here has both head/marker lights and one tail light lit. Would only one tail light lamp have been lit at a time? Andi
  5. Only the JPGs on 860 and a link that says it will go to the image files but is to the viewing software but no files. Edit: Ah, ignore me, the JPGs open as panoramic in the veiwer... Andi
  6. Where are the panoramic images please Dave? Andi
  7. As I understand it the masthead (the title with the date etc.) is removed and sent back to be credited, and the rest is recycled locally Andi
  8. Damn, beaten to it by Andrew P... I was about to post the same thing asking if the stops had failed again https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/earthquake-tremors-england-north-yorkshire-british-geological-survey-a8391641.html Andi
  9. Looking at Jamie’s photos, will the model have the red lights behind that strip below the window opposite the buffet counter? Andi
  10. Sometimes you can combine them... a dumbell twisted around on itself to make a roundy roundy, then you add an extra turn and a coal mine in the middle and call it Ravensclyffe http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/3288-ravensclyffe/ Andi
  11. I have a remarkably similar photo... Andi (The one in the black jacket whose phone is in front of you)
  12. in the days before speed sensing was fitted there was nothing to stop the driver putting the loco into "neutral" while coasting to give his feet a rest from the deadmans pedal. Andi
  13. I believe the centre headlight came on when the reverser was moved away from off. Andi
  14. Still visible on Google maps https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@40.3753732,49.8627395,104m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en
  15. I've always thought that Clive had a couple of screws loose with his penchant for Slaters flat-pack prototype kits, but last weekend a man I met at a show confirmed that Clive is completely sane... The chap I met had scratchbuilt many of the diesel prototypes - the Fell, 18000, GT3 etc. IN N GAUGE!!! Andi
  16. Is it DCC ready? If so how many decoders does the manufacturer expect to be fitted? If you do go for only a single decoder then get one WITHOUT Back EMF, the two motors will confuse the hell out of a back EMF decoder. Andi
  17. I had exactly this conversation a couple of times at the weekend, manufacturers put out the bloody awful one-off liveries and not the standard BR blue one that the whole fleet ran in for 20 years, so when the one-off gets reduced we all buy it so we can repaint it blue. When they finally do get the blue one released three years later all those of us that would have killed for a blue one at full price have got a fleet of resprays. Then the manufacturer says that blue ones don't sell... Grrrr Andi
  18. A great little show, very high quality, and I think very unusual in that TT was the most popular scale! Rich's layout seemed to go down very well. Andi
  19. MPs and Lies in the same sentence... sounds about right! Andi
  20. The circuit that I once posted was for inverse wired two-lead bicolour LEDs rather than for common cathode. Adding a pair of diodes around the tri-leg LED can convert it to effectively a two leg device. Andi
  21. Those look good, but you have fallen into the same trap that I did. The equipment will normally be on the side of the portal facing the direction of traffic for the line it supplies, not all on the same side. Andi
  22. It was the first thing we found with the camera train, until you were looking out of the front window of the train you were driving you didn't realise just how fast you were going. Andi
