      1963... heavy snow boxing day, not much thereafter, but still had some lying around just before Easter! B****Y cold!

      Yes, 1963 - our school closed for a couple of weeks as the outside loos were frozen solid!

      My school days as a kid through the 1963 winter never saw the school close (our loos were outside but we were a hardier bunch) or is it because boys will always pee in the snow!

      Now I am a caretaker and we either close the school or like thelast 2 days put down 1 ton of salt on the playground so they don't slip and make a claim!

      Funny old world we live in now.

    I have just sold a Trix scotsmann with no motor body with lots of paint missing i started it at 99p & would have been happy with a £5 it finished at £185 can anyone tell me WHY

    well posted on my work bench for a bit well i have been finishing a comet built coach of there LMS inspection saloon I have had to solder on the underframe detail cut fit & finish the roof paint line then fit the bodys door handles & grabrails I have allso built the kit for the 4mm Lochgorm kits Highland Railway Dia D32 4 wheel passinger brakevan finished in preiod 3 LMS livery next will be a 247 Developments 70 foot GWR TPO

    No photos again today well got up this moring witha banging head which has taken most of the day to go away but it has gone & i have just masked up the GWR railmotor & given it its coat of GWR brown & them re-moved the masking As i am off on a short camping trip with the kids tommorow it will be next week before i can paint the chassie black then on with the transfers

    Well Today i have finished the roof & got this & the body primed As i primed the body before working on the roof i have just given the body a coat of GWR cream No pic today

    Well Today i have go the bodywork finished apart from fitting the Buffers & the Bars that go from the solebars to under the steam bogie this i will do tomorrow than once the body has ben washed & dry i will give it a coat of white primmer Also today i have made a start on the roof which i have made attatch by pin & hole at the drive end then the chimney screws down throw the roof to hold the other end of the roof i have built up all of the brass parts of the roof just leaving me to drill holes for the lamp tops & vent tomorrow then fitting said items the info with the kit say to use the micro strip for the rain strips but i have re-placed these with .45 brass rod here are the pics

    Well i have got the underfram finished to day apart from the 4 white metal arms that go around the steam motor also i need to build the water tank from some brass as the kit says to build this from plasticard so i will replace that Tomorrow i hope to finish these jobs then start fitting the detail parts to the body well here is a pic

    well a good day today got the body built & the rear bogie built as well i still need to fit the queen posts plus the undeframe/ body details heres the photos

    Well i have just finished the 2nd set of valve gear as i did not get any done over the week Now its time for a cup of coffee then on with the bodywork/coach

    well today i have built up one side if the valve gear I am going to have to reolace the lower link from the valve slide as it is to short & is locking up the valve gear but that will be done after i have something to eat in the pic the round thing it a 1p peace
