Codeine. Lovely. Not.

Mention is often made of the generic basic 'shelf stacking job in a supermarket'. I've been looking for jobs for five years and I've never seen an advert for one. Can someone tell me where this generic role gets advertised? :-S

Stationmaster: Nearest normal Tesco is about 90 minutes commute away. Also, 20 pages of vacancies doesn't mean they're near me or are viable jobs for me. Looking closer, all near me are at small Tescos and are part-time. I need full-time income in order to get completely off benefits so I can rent a place to live.

Russ: I've thought about HGV, however, it costs a fair packet to get trained and go through the test and I have no money whatsoever. Also, it's not a job I'd stay in, and most employers will needle me on the likelihood that I'd go back to computer coding. I can lie, but my work history is what it is and tells the story.

RMweb has been a source of comfort during times of stress for me, and no doubt will continue to be so in the future. But... there are days when I just really want to go away and never come back.

Why is that on the radio recently I keep hearing the Russian President's name pronounced 'Poo Tin'...?

Nice. I hope you get to grips with it. I started out with C on a Commodore 64 many moons ago, but it was quicker back then to go straight to assembly language. On PCs I started with Borland then on to Visual Studio. Don't do much these days though I have a few bits I should update, just to keep my hand in.

Gave blood for the first time today. Though not a cure for a screwed up life, such a change of routine can be useful

When learning about algebra and quadratic equations, it helps if the explanation for 'halving the x-term' actually says 'halving the coefficient of the x-term'!!!
