  1. So the Scottish large logo 37s are expected late June, I will need to delay delivery of mine until July
  2. love how 204 is coming along, when you've done if you could let me know a few key dimensions of the equipment cabinets etc and I'll get busy with MS Builder to make my version for this:
  3. As someone who was targeted by these chancers it's worth emphasising: NEVER pay vai paypal friends & family if you don't personally know the seller.
  4. Sorry dan, forgot all about you. Here's what I do: Firstly using a largish drill remove enough of the rivetted over brush guide to allow the front brush guide assembly (white plastic bit) to be removed Drill out the remainder of the smaller hole in the front plate to match the larger original one (try not to damage the edge of the bearing like I did!) Drill and tap the plate with suitable small screws to secure the brush guide assembly to the front plate - you could araldite it on, but I prefer a more mechanical arrangement. Brushes are now isolated from the chassis and can be wired up for DCC
  5. Do you have pics etc of 48204's interior to work with? I've made my own version for my 1980's APT and would like to get the interior right, even if it means doing some 3D printing.
  6. And a fine job he's making of the MR2 too 😁
  7. Probably not as the motor armature shaft runs from the chassis side to the bearing on the front plate...... I have a way of converting the Hornby MK1 ringfield that copied the Fleischmann design, I'll see if I can dig out some pics later
  8. it's not all bad for Welsh coal, maybe ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd1rp7399q8o
  9. Does this give the teams more money for upgrades? or is "catering" separate from the cost cap now????
  10. Is this any help? looks like on the second one you need to get part 11 back in. I know from experience it's a damn fiddly job. I am super careful now when removing the needle to make sure nothing else moves and get the needle back in asap!
  11. Not true for me, same subscription, download and read on Ipad, Android phone and can view (and save 2 pages at a time) on PC
  12. PocketMags might not but Google do remind you in time
  13. I have a real soft spot for this loco, having had a Triang Hornby one as a kid, still got it, much repaired. it had a replacement tender body bought from Gee Dees, cab roof was repaired with superglue gel. Cab handrails replaced with stainless wire. Footsteps are missing, but have a GBL version to rob for parts. I've even just designed a 3D printed replacement chassis bottom to replace the paxolin version I crafted in the '80s As you can see, I do have a genuine spare, but they are mega scarce, so a 3D printed version might prove useful in future.
  14. Hi Neil, I too have seen your layout in BRM, would you bring it to the Mansfield Show next March - 2nd & 3rd?
  15. There is talk on the MERG forum of seeing if an NCE version of the Dongle can be produced, once Hornby release it. Talk is of "sniffing" the bluetooth communications and emulating them.
  16. Think you are right Steve, Brandon springs to mind
  17. mmm, me too. He came on the bus and walked from the old bus station. I did him a map to find us. Think someone gave him a lift home?
  18. some of the questions are hilarious on that listing. One answer would put me off though - might not be able to be used to cut along a steel ruler to get straight lines ......
  19. in O gauge ..... or preferably the Prototype 252 in OO, pretty please 😁
