  5. If you're happy with small pieces I have plenty of fret waste from PPD orders - send me a PM to discuss if you'd like some.
  6. Due to the UK's weather situation, our planned trip to the Norfolk & Suffolk NGM members' day in Beccles has been called off - hopefully to be rescheduled for later in the year. To make up for not being there, you can get a 10% discount on any order placed through the Narrow Planet website by using the discount code SNOWDAY at checkout. It's valid once per customer until midnight UK time on Saturday 3rd March. Included in the deal are our new L&B style buffer stops, which would have been available for the first time at the show. Fill yer (snow) boots! https://shop.narrowplanet.co.uk/products/npc-016 Main store at https://shop.narrowplanet.co.uk
  7. Maybe just join the Model Railway Club? Clubrooms near Kings Cross. http://www.themodelrailwayclub.org/
  8. Yes they're most likely LNWR. GWR numbers have a straight bottom edge on the 2 and a straighter upright on the 7.
  9. I have some of Sven's motors. Although I haven't tried this conversion kit, we're very pleased with their performance and will be using them in forthcoming Narrow Planet kits. Sven commissioned them for his excellent steam tram models: http://tramfabriek.nl/
  10. Most Minitrains locos are somewhat flexibly scaled, although generally closer to 4mm than 3.5mm. The Bagnall is considered to be 4mm, although it is based on a freelance competition entry to fit a previous MT mechanism rather than a scale model of a particular loco. A common and well proven set of chassis components is used in the majority of Minitrains locos, including a flywheel, and they are smooth and well running.
  11. The 009 Society may have some, but generally Minitrains items are only available as complete locos. Our kit and chassis bundle is probably the best value in this case.
  12. More parts are in production so it should be back in stock in a couple of weeks. If you drop an email to info@narrowplanet.co.uk we can add you to our interest list and let know you when they're available again.
  13. Now added - https://narrowplanet.myshopify.com/products/npc-015
  14. We'll make a set of both castings available in the next week or so.
  15. I don't get to the Uckfield show very often as I'm usually stacked getting ready for Expo Narrow Gauge (normally 1-2 weeks later, next weekend in this case) but I'm glad I made the effort this time as the selection of layouts was superb. Unexpected highlights beyond the "headline" layouts were Six Quarters and Tarring Neville, and it was also nice to be handed the controller on Bridport Town for a while - thanks David!
  16. Porthmadog - Harbour, BR and WHHR. 2011 population 4,185.
  17. Perdido Street Station, Iron Council and Railsea by China Mieville.
  18. Narrow Planet is pleased to announce the reintroduction of the Thatcher Plates range of etched nameplates, works and number plates. With a considerable amount of stock on hand, pricing for these items has been set very competitively. Primarily produced in 7mm:ft scale (O gauge), the Thatcher Plates range of mostly prototypical locomotive sets is a perfect complement to the Narrow Planet custom etching service, which will continue to be offered in all scales - with some minor changes where items in both ranges overlap. Orders will initially be taken based on the inherited catalogue, subject to availability from stock. With reference to the catalogue, please enquire by email to info@narrowplanet.co.uk stating your requirements. An invoice will be returned for items in stock which can be paid online by card or Paypal, or by cheque (UK customers only). You can view the PDF catalogue for the range at shop.narrowplanet.co.uk/thatcher
  19. What I've always wondered is where do they keep all the voting booths between elections.
  20. We usually recommend 2.5mm for 4mm scale Pecketts as their plates are slightly taller than average size in most cases - although the specific Peckett style has quite thin lettering. It all depends on the length of the name though so if you have a certain width the plates need to fit within just let us know.
  21. After enduring them on the Eastbourne route for a few years, hopefully in the bin. The ones that vibrated like they were shaking themselves to bits were the real treat.
  22. 'BEAR' at the Sittingbourne & Kelmsley Light Railway has another style of nameplate: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SKLR_Bear.JPG So either the style varied over time or plates were fitted or replaced by the owners. We can always draw up artwork to match a specific photo if required. (Stephen, Narrow Planet)
  23. Derek Naylor's Aire Valley series in 00n3 (late 60s / early 70s from memory) will always be my favourite. (I'm not that old, but my uncle had a considerable number of back issues so I educated myself during visits!)
  24. The Narrow Planet "TR Nº1 'slimline' detailing kit" will comprise of: 3D printed replacement cylinders and etched nickel silver motion. 3D printed smokebox door (kindly provided by CW Railways as noted above) Etched brass nameplates, works plates and number plates. Planned price is £12 for the set, we are aiming to release it at Narrow Gauge South West in Shepton Mallet on Feb 20th and it will be listed on the website at the same time. Some progress on the test build: http://shop.narrowplanet.co.uk
