  1. Hi nomisd Great photos - much appreciated! If you have more like these - I'm sure there are several members waiting patiently to see them... Thanks
  2. Hi Paul, That sounds like a very useful tool to have! Thanks for advising us of it. I will keep an eye on Shapeways and, between now and then, decide if this is the way for me in future. My supply of Farish Mk3 Sleepers is bound to run out before long and I still need to do some repaints into the new Serco Caledonian Sleeper livery. Thanks
  3. Hi Robert, Don't tempt fate - we don't want to make Bachfar wonder about doing the BUO at all. But - you could be right! Thanks
  4. Hi Grahame, Yes - I agree with that statement. You can certainly tell the difference once they are together - even after respraying to match the livery. Thanks
  5. Hi Robert, Last comment from Bachmann re:- RFO , BUO coaches being Mk2s and thus logically from the Farish stable "Cannot see that it is likely that there would be continued interest in these" This was after the announcement that the new franchisee would have to provide all new stock as part of the operations contract. In relation to this - I don't see any great rush by the new franchisee to change the livery on many more of the existing stock. Thanks
  6. Hi all, Mike is correct - Dapol did say they would not be doing the sleepers at all. When I said we would have to wait for developments - it is from Bachmann that we have to wait. Hopefully the fact that Dapol have done the Mk3 coaches will not stop them doing a full new model to replace the older Farish offerings in the range. As for current options... I was also wondering if it was possible to fill in windows then cut the appropriate windows into place to do a sleeper. Thanks ps - yes - I have several Farish Sleepers buried in a box.
  7. Hi John, You are not alone with your thoughts on the BachFar MK3 Sleepers.... I've already had a look at transplanting the chassis from the Dapol Mk3 onto the Farish shell. Due to the coach design it isn't an easy thing to do - so difficult that I gave up. I've resigned myself to waiting until Bachmann do something with the Mk3 which is an actual improvement. So far - the only improvement has been in the paint finish. Thanks
  8. Hi all, At last! A 'Proper Industrial'.... Of course - this one will also be capable of turning into a genuine 'Scottish Puggy'! Of course - we could just wait for Hornby to do the Scottish varieties. Looking forward to more info and a release date! Thanks

  10. Hi guys, I'm glad that you are taking on the production of these two milestone locos - yet another gap filled! Now - it's down to price, employment, money and my wallet is already screaming as it has worked out what I would - ideally like to have. Antway - will keep an eye on progress and hope that the funds come available at the right time(s). Thanks
  11. Hi Paul, Did you decide on the builder for these wagons - I can't remember and it's not on here? Also - which wagon numbers apply to your model? Thanks ps - wagon still looking good! If these are the ex UK ones then run as Granit in Europe - check this link. http://www.wagons-europe.fr/gallery304/index.php/87-france/933-granit-services?page=1
  12. In that case... Better not tell anyone at the East Lancashire Railway either! Hmmmm. I wonder where passport control is? Of course - if he were chipped he could use a virtual passport. Thanks
  13. Hi ian, Charlie already knows the answer to that question..... http://www.ribblesteam.org.uk/exhibits/diesel/16-br-class-05-d2595-1959 Yes - and not too far away from him! Thanks
  14. Hi all, I gave up on ever getting the items I ordered and on ever getting a response to any type of communication. I reclaimed the funds via Paypal after waiting over 6 months with 5 months of that being attempted communication, initially by 'phone, then email, then snail mail. I've even been to the registered address and knocked on the door. No response at the door, looked like there was someone in, no piles of mail dying inside the letterbox. All to no avail. Whilst I would always wish a supplier to be successful and keep the products available for us all - I cannot see how this will happen with Craftsman products. Unless he is waiting for all the spare time he hopes to have once he is retired! I was lucky to be able to source the majority of bits from other Scottish Modellers, RMWeb and DEMU members. Looks like the best way will be for you to put up a Wanted advert in the relevant section and see what response you get. Thanks
  15. Hi Matthew, The decoder you buy will depend on several things.... 1 - Your knowledge of what the real thing sounds like and your aspirations towards fidelity 2 - The price you are willing to pay 3 - Availability in UK or from the US YouTube is a good place to start as you will find your loco with a variety of sound decoders available to view and listen to. For me - having gone this route already - it would be the Soundtraxx decoder which can be seen here:- http://www.soundtraxx.com/dsd/tsunami/1000gn.php Other than that - it's up to you! Thanks

  17. Hi all, As intimated before the show..... Rannoch Moor had a wide variety of new stock running across the weekend. Not all at the same time though - just had to keep ringing the changes! Apart from Mike's complete Royal Scotsman rake there were other developments in the coaching stock! Edit - Content removed at request - apologies for this.. Thanks ps - Rannoch Moor is next out at the Ayr MRG Exhibition For details:- here:- http://ayrmrg.co.uk/tag/ayr-model-rail-show-citadel-leisure-centre-ayr-19th-20th-september-2015/ and here:- http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/99002-ayr-model-railway-exhibition-2015/
  18. Hi all, Well - DCC Supplies have done the good deed and I now have a new MRC 1633 decoder. That solves the problem that it wouldn't hold any programming anyway! OK - So the 1633 is sold as a sound decoder as suitable for 'EMD Modern Switcher'. Now - what does that really mean? It tells the buyer nothing about the engine size, cylinders, Turbo or Non Turbo fitted, dynamic or non dynamic. In short - nothing that indicates what variant of loco it is suitable. Who can tell? Certainly not me! Even comparing it with some other decoders that are supplied with loco and engine details - I can't be sure. Anyway - this was the last of my MRC decoders that needed fitting and it will be the last MRC decoder that I buy. So - any suggestions to the most suitable loco for the decoder? Thanks
  19. If you go onto the Forum you will find there is an Index for UPDate available. Search using PGA and it brings up all the UPDate issues that had the part articles in them. Once you have the issue numbers go back to the Website and click on DEMUWiki in the menu. You will have to log into the Wiki site - same details as Forum access. This will take you to the start point and you should find a link to the UPDate BAck Issue as PDF files. Thanks Go to the website - Click on the DEMU Wiki link
  20. Hi there, For this topic the majority of research has already been done and published in the DEMU Members magazine - UPDate. For this alone It would be worthwhile you spending the £21.00 and becoming a member as you will be able to access the back issues of the magazine. www.demu.org.uk From memory it was spread over about 10 issues but not consecutive ones. Thanks
  21. until

  22. Hi all, DCC Supplies have arranged for a replacement decoder to be sent to me. I'm happy with this outcome but, as I said previously, I won't be buying any more MRC decoders. Thanks
  23. Hello Jack, Thanks for the information.... Will act on it as soon as I can! Back to planning... Thanks
  24. Hello Jack, Are these figures suitable for sitting in a Tram or Trolley? If so... Where can I get some? Thanks
  25. Hi Mike, If you make it - that will be great! Looking forward to seeing the Royal Scotsman stock as well. Still seeking an answer to our signalling problem! Thanks
