  1. Some say...we've thught of a new way of introducing him. But we haven't, it's the Stig!

Some say...they're running low on new ideas for his introduction

Some say they are running out of ideas for a motoring show except to show fast cars and nothing else.

    3. andyram

      andyram

@DapolDave: I think you misunderstand Top Gear. It is more an entertainment motoring show these days which is why they show the fast cars and challenges instead of cars for the everyday punter.

  2. Remember, the internet isn't TOPS. F8 doesn't page down. Page Down does page down. I do like TOPS 2000 though. Got CTT release off to a tee now :-D

      Mallard60022

She and the Arrows live quite near me and I hardly ever see them these days since more houses ruined my sight line to Lincolnshire!

  4. Class 66 doors: slam, slam, clunk, slam, bang, clunk, slam. Still won't shut. Class 59: shuts first time. Sums up the difference between them nicely!

    1. Shedmaster

      Shedmaster

...and when you book em' the fitters reply with sarcastic comments such as 'do not slam the doors, they just need a gentle push' !

    2. Rods_of_Revolution

      Rods_of_Revolution

The Class 66 has two door handles so you have to shut it once for each handle! The 59 is the classic one handle one shut design.

  5. Mythbusters meets breaking bad. Ohhhhhh yeah!

    2. Steadfast

      Steadfast

It's nice seeing a train you dealt with running safely further on! I can't wait to sink my teeth back into some proper shunting, all train prep and examining at the moment

  11. My least favourite part of respraying a Farish 60...painting the light clusters black always seems to take far longer than it should

    1. newbryford

      newbryford

      Same for a Hornby 60!

    2. Steadfast

      Steadfast

Much larger area on that though! It's a shame all the current liveries have black light clusters. The masked and sprayed NRN aerials (at the same time as the grills) came out nicely though, much easier than brushing!

  12. Had my sign off at work today. Apparently I know what I'm talking about. That was a genuine surprise! More importantly, time for some modelling now it's done :-)

    1. angell328

      angell328

Just wait to you get to the painting stage! Prime, sand, prime, fill area that only shows up after priming, sand, prime, top coat. Notice its wrong shade, start over.....!

      Steadfast
