  1. Started a new thread for the next two locos - a pair of 25s See http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/96945-detailing-Bachmann-class-25s/ Cheers Phil
  2. Odds on that's a male Brimstone Easy to distinguish by its lovely yellow colour and rather angular wings. Often one of the first sightings of the year. http://www.britishbutterflies.co.uk/species-info.asp?vernacular=Brimstone Says it lurks along hedgerows looking for a female.....! http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=brimstone+butterfly&FORM=HDRSC2#view=detail&id=02D69078E626153B3D30C1F45116351090F931B9&selectedIndex=32 Is a super chap! Two lovely newly hatched tortoiseshells in Sandford Park in Cheltenham today but they wouldn't pose for a photo. Phil
  3. D9518 at Cardiff - that is a cracking shot, possibly best lit D95xx shot ever seen! Many thanks for sharing them all Phil
  4. Cheers Mike have PM'ed Biff although I rather suspect he would prefer they were his sound files too!!!! Phil
  5. Cheers Mark Went together well except the carpet monster leapt up and grabbed one of the end stanchions from the fitted version so had to manufacture replacement. Should have added vac pipe along top of chassis before installing hopper too - don't look too closely! Also made the wrap round ends of the end hand rails 1mm longer each side to allow a bit more to stick to the hopper - and used -.45mm nickel silver for hand rails rather than the softer supplied brass. But yup great fun will update when have done some more. Going to try weathering with oils as per 16 ton minerals thread - best rust I have ever seen! Cheers Phil
  6. Have been installing Legobiffoman fuel tank speakers in our 27s this afternoon They work rather well - max 30 mins work per loco, great stuff! Off now to put headcodes and sound chip in D7100 Cheers Phil
  7. Ok More action at last Heres our initial response to Mark Cs challenge! 3 x PD kits - 2 x unfitted DIA 146s plus a rebuilt and fitted Having got some experience with these sending off for more kits to introduce some variety --- an unrebuilt fitted, a rebuilt on LNER chassis come immediately to mind Good fun! Phil
  8. That's enough of the depressing scrapyard stuff! Lets have positive progress. 5528 now finished except for coupling loops Many thanks to Enterprisingwestern and East Kent Models who both answered my plea for detailing packs - I owe you one Mike Not particularly happy with this as it stands - paintwork is far too flat although of course has been through the Kelsall Green Carriage washer numerous times.... and the body is so fragile, taking out the roof panel to change the zorsts weakened it significantly so not using the fixing screws at the moment - anyone got any alternative suggestions on body attachment please - other than superglue??? Also started on some 21 ton minerals - here are a couple Jimbo had started, one PD the other a Dapol body on PD chassis. Have loads of the latter bodies so more to come... For progress with hoppers see Hornby thread - see post 104 in http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/94955-hornbys-new-21-ton-hopper/page-5&do=findComment&comment=1809881 Cheers Phil Edited to correct end on shot orientation!
  9. Think we need a "dead dodgy" post button! Phil
  10. Just say amplexus and the kids wont know what it means! Phil
  11. Any loco that picks up on the outer axles only of a 3 axle bogie is likely to have problems - fundamental design flaw! Have given in here and gone for the additional pick-ups on backs of wheels approach - all 3 axles per bogie Also hard wired bogies to chassis. If that doesn't fix it then I give up! Phil
  12. Havent seen any butterflies here but the local sparrows are enjoying the sunshine! Phil
  13. Tongue firmly in cheek there Jonny! Would agree with your assessment.... Phil
  14. Cracking technique! Thanks for sharing Off to the artists materials section of Hobbycraft tomorrow for some oils.... Phil
  15. How about this? If that's genuine sound then I'm just putting a Western sound chip in my forthcoming Bacchy ones! Phil
  16. Sorry Andy - old age creeping in! Had an attack of Warship dyslexia the other day confusing my Steadfast and Sharpshooter and its contagious....! That lovely MFYE shot of D842 above is of course Royal Oak not Triumph.... Hee hee Phil
  17. Watch out for generalisations!!!! http://www.miac.org.uk/class42.html#brd837 Scroll down to the 837 picture Phil
  18. It snowed in Worcester in June that year! Phil
  19. Just found this super shot of 75027 in August 68 in the KDH Archive https://www.flickr.com/photos/96859208@N07/12595078733/in/photostream/ Cheers Phil
  20. D262 and 40149 WHo put those corner hadrails on? Not very straight! Hee hee Phil
  21. And correct of course - Sunday morning blues! Thanks for correction. As for 03s - Worcester started off in steam days with 03s and also for a brief period in 66 also had 04s. At that time there was only one 08 - D4118 - but by my era in 68 there was little or no work for the 03s as the depot usually had 5 08s - an 03 used to trundle around aimlessly with a couple of wagons occasionally or shunt the shed yard - remember watching 2128 struggling manfully to shunt a dead 47 around the depot one day - but largely they all sat in the goods loco (boiler washout) shed until taken away for scrap or further use in industry. That they were largely good to go was evidenced by certain individuals climbing in to one at the open day in 69 and pressing the start button - they jumped out again quickly when it started making noises like it might fire up....
