  1. That is stunning modelling - bookmarked!
  2. Oh yes... It just gets better. Bexhill beat Littlehampton 2-1 today. We now need 4 points to guarentee a top 3 finish!
  3. Hailsham Town return to winning ways after going out of the Division Two Cup at the Semi Final stage on Tuesday night - won 3-2, which flattered the opposition slightly, but a win is very much a win at this stage of the season! I've also just worked out that 7 points from our remaining 8 games will be enough to seal promotion! - A win aginst Bexhill on Tuesday night, another on Saturday at home to Oakwood, and a draw at home to Midhurst & Easebourne in a fortnight could do it! Match Report
  4. Stringers 3 - Steyning 2. That'll do nicely!

  5. There's a burst water main in the road, they cut our water off 3 hours ago and a man has been sitting in a van outside doing very little ever since, and South East Water say there are no problems on their website. What chance do I have of getting a coffee tomorrow morning...

You could always ask the man in the van for a brew!

  6. has suprisingly been given permission to turn an unused shelf into a photo plank/diorama for the lounge wall. I'd be rude not to take advantage of this unexpected development!

I think her ladyship would rather have a nice rural scene on the wall, even if it may have a train of some kind on it, than my mounted photos of the Goldstone Ground from 1997 ;)

it will end in tears, get it in writing, that there is no other motive behind this sudden generosity from the female of the species....

I'm sure that it's just that, as mentioned, 'something pretty' on the wall is more socially acceptable than framed photos of a sadly defunct football ground, murdered by a certain businessman who will, karma willing, still end his days atop a bonfire just like the song says...!

  7. Rustington today managed three shots on target. One of them was a penalty, and that was saved - the other two went in. We had about 20 chances, took one of them and then got lucky with an own goal. Still, I said i'd take a point today in return for a win in the Cup Semi Final on Tuesday night... - C'Mon You Stringers!

  8. Bargain at the market - Black & Decker 'Hobby Kit' Mini Drill/Burnisher/Engraver/Cutter - Box tatty and judging by the pictures, from about 1986, but works perfectly and at the princely sum of one shiny pound, far cheaper than a Dremel!

  9. 1 day down, 2 to go, short weeks \o/

  10. Front side went down 5-4 on pens in the Brighton Charity Cup. I was running the line for the Reserves, who lost 3-2 but, frankly, were robbed. 10 minutes to go, Ball runs back to the Rye 'keeper. He fannies around, trying to delay until the last moment before grabbing the loose ball, under pressure from our number 10. He bends down to get it, Marcus sticks out a boot and scores. Ref points to the centre for a goal. Players of both sides are running back, Rye players moaning, and all of a sudden (a good 10 seconds at least after the ball had gone in the net), the Rye (at Reserve level, both sides provide a linesman) linesman suddenly sticks his flag up. Ref goes over for a chat, goal disallowed as the 'keeper apparently had two hands on the ball. Talking to various people behind the goal, including a qualified ref and an ex Manager, he didn't have anything on the ball. Ref, by the way, was 30 yards away so couldn't see either way (he told me that he had no idea after the game, so I don't blame him for going by his assistant at all. I don't mind running the line (although I ache now!), and I may not always be in line with play all the time (I blame the fags), but I don't cheat like that.
  11. Urgh, man flu. On the plus side, flexi time is useful in these situations! - Wonder if a couple of hours gardening or playing with plasticard and poly cement will clear my nose and throat? - and it's nearly time for another one of those revolting Beechams powders. Bah.

  12. That's lovely Frank, as has been said, the colours look spot on.
  13. Thought I'd up this to dish out some praise - Just had excellent customer service after my own mistake. Tonight I've ordered some SR Platform 'legs' for the layout, but idiotically, put the wrong email address on the order (basically I have one gmail one for work/football and one '@live.co.uk' one for other stuff. They have similar, but not identical bits in front of the @ . Can you see where I'm going with this? - Basically I put the right first bit, and the wrong domain. Paypal went through OK, so I rang (at 8pm it should be said!) and the phone was answered immediatley and the issue cleared up. Well done Dart Castings!
  14. Weight Watchers Pancakes are suprisingly nice! - Should have stayed for one Kev!

LOL, I don't do weight watching, going to have a huge bowl of Spaghetti Bolognaise and a couple of cheeky glasses of red wine instead. Hope the drawings prove useful for the layout.

  15. So it was dry when I was in the shed all morning, it's dry again now - why did it choose to rain in the middle when I was standing in a field in Storrington watching Hailsham battle to a goalless draw!?

(Although it looks less like a hedge and more like a bit of stripwood rolled in green scatter to me )
  17. Memo to self. Do NOT hold sellotape on your lip whilst wrapping a present. It hurts when you take it off!

  19. Reminds me of a story that is often told down at the club. Before my time at Hailsham, someone fouled Dave Rowe in a rather violent manner. The ref sent him off - but his day got worse when then Hailsham Chairman Carl Taylor, a police inspector at the time, marched onto the pitch and arrested him for common assault
  20. This is interesting.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hellingly-Hospital-Railway-East-Sussex-Train-Eridge-Polegate-Electric-LBSCR-1957-/250988701518?pt=UK_Collectables_Railwayana_RL&hash=item3a7017a74e "This week, I have been mostly chopping up old magazines and flogging the articles"
  21. Fiddly, but possible Back on topic - some fantastic atmosphere in those latest pictures, the flow of the trackwork looks so right - I can see that it is a 'real' place even though the 'new' Peterborough is all I've known on my travels. http://www.vectorcut...cessoriesHO.htm - Burgers, hot dogs, bagels & doughnuts - no pies though! (Edited for shocking grammar!)

When the battery has charged, yes! - and possibly snowmen, if the weather is to be believed!

  23. To get the 'live text' for individual games you have to click on the 'Live' heading - an example: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16778984 As for the live text covering all games, that's still there - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16885965 You are right about the fixtures page though, I can't find a 'everything on today' page anywhere.
  24. Needless to say, it's off. As is quite a lot of other football - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16875311 Not a lot in Sussex has survived the weather, the only game having passed an inspection so far is Peacehaven Reserves v Eastbourne Town Reserves. Peacehaven FC is one of the coldest places in the world at the best of times, let alone today, so I won't be going out to take in that one!
  25. Front side definatley off, Reserves most probably off when the ref arrives - a day in the shed then!
