  1. Just wanted to echo Bryn, that Saddle Tank is lovely!
  2. Was given a bottle of home brew 17 days ago which had been bottled that day. Will it be alright to drink tonight whilst watching the snooker?

Depends on what it is (a wine kit, or completely made from scratch-fruit wines etc.) but I leave my home brews a good 6 months after bottling before drinking.

Cheers - its a dark beer.

  3. Let me know if you want exact dimensions - I've got several of the indicator boards for lines in Sussex and Surrey sitting in the loft. Bought them at Collectors Corner, years ago (I was about 8, I remember wanting a Mk1 Carriage door that they had, but there was no way we would have got it home on the tube and train, according to my auntie who took me!).
  4. \o/ can watch the snooker tonight - apparently it's not 'boring' when Judd Trump is playing... (But I don't think it's his break building ability the Mrs admires ;-) )

    1. Debs.

      Debs.

I`m watching in black and white; is the grey snookering the other grey? :-)

  5. At least this one's not purple.
  6. Certainly looks good Gordon - for what it's worth, I've used a mix of Celotex and Chicken Wire on Horsebridge I carved the Celotex, with care, through the 'grain' of it to produce an uneven piece with lumps and bumps, then blended it with Modroc into the chicken wire which forms the riverbank.
  7. Absolutley correct - it was a trial prior to moving to the Hellingly Hospital railway, where, despite a 50-year age gap, it went very nicely with their secondhand ex-GWR 4 wheel coaches on the visitors trains and also did sterling work on the coal duties....
  8. Nice to see this one back, Tim. Nice letter in RM too.
  9. That is some lovely work, with real attention to detail. Superb!
  10. Beginning to get fed up with my back (as I suspect you are, apologies!) - the lure of the shed is strong!

  11. And I'll chip in with a late candidate for 'oddest website of the season' http://nonleaguedogs.tumblr.com/ Does what it says on the tin
  12. Second Chiropractors appointment this morning. After that and a very hot shower, back feels a lot better - still not allowed in the shed though!

  13. #backwatch Day 6. Managed to get out of bed by myself this morning. Slowly and gradually getting there! - still banned from the shed though!

  14. Still got a dodgy back - but now have the rest of the week off work and more importantly, paid (Used some holiday, but rather that than unpaid sick leave!), a second Chiropractor appointment on Friday, and today a day of Planet Rock, Football Manager and occasionally hobbling to the kitchen for a cuppa!

Dinnae "OD" on the Motorhead then...

  15. Back still agony, but feel guilty about missing work, so using annual leave rather than phoning in sick. Loyalty or Idiocy?

Yep, thats my thinking - this will be the second day on the prescribed painkillers, so hopefully taking today off and resting it will allow me to go back tomorrow.

Could someone collect you from the station and drop you off again at close ?

Just hobbled down the shop and back. Definatley easier than yesterday (and this morning!). Might be able to blag a lift back to the station in the afternoon if I need it tomorrow though! - I'm off on Wednesday anyway (Easter Egg hunt at the local farm shop/pick your own with little man), so will probably just put up with it tomorrow!

  16. What have I done to my back? - hurt a bit first thing, but was OK to do some work in the shed, now its taking me five minutes to be able to stand up straight! - it must be bad, I'm even missing football!

Soory to hear that. Was it you lugging OAPs out of taxis yesterday?

Sounds like you may have excerbated it more when you worked in the shed. Best thing may be to rest it for a while, could be that the muscles are inflamed and need a cooling ice pack or similar on them?

  18. The guy quoted is the manager. He did an absolutley painful (5 second pauses, one word answers etc) interview on PM tonight on Radio 4! We might lose now and then, but not seen 58 nil yet! Mind you, the youth team lost 10-1 the other week
  19. Just got back from watching Hailsham Reserves draw 2 each with Lancing. Game contained one of the most incredible moments I've ever seen. Lancing player takes the ball into the box, pushes it past 'keeper Ollie and is fouled by a covering defender. Penalty awarded, should have been a red card. Referee, however, then told the players that he had forgotten which Hailsham player fouled... Unbelieveable. Anyway, Ols saved the penalty, and Norm equalised with a lob with two minutes to go, so it's all good
  20. That's absolutley stunning Frank!
  21. Promoted. Won 5-0 - Shane hatrick, Leachy and Salvo. Doesn't seem to matter now though after seeing Fabrice Muamba collapse on the pitch in the Spurs - Bolton game
  22. Hailsham Town win 5-0 to seal promotion - but watching what's happened at Spurs-Bolton has showed it is completely irrelevant

I agree. People's lives are of more consequence than football...

  23. Well, today is, hopefully, the day - Hailsham Town can seal promotion, and instant return to Sussex County Division One, with a point at home to second bottom Oakwood. C'MON YOU STRINGERS!!
  24. Meanwhile, back in the world of real football.... A point at home to Oakwood on Saturday will be enough for promotion. Any Rmwebbers fancy being there to see it will get a free cuppa (If you tell me you are coming, anyway!)
  25. 1 Point needed for promotion now! - Come on you Stringers!
