  1. The SOO Plymouth went for £62! Well this O Scale stuff is rather enticing, Nick you have a lot to answer for!!!! The SOO GP35 just sold for £162.93 is that a good price?
  2. I-spy a steam loco in that siding I like the subtle weathering on the "grumpy", i must get round to weathering mine. Have you also fitted the etched numbers? Another question Ian, how did you do the station name boards?
  3. it is generally accepted that the MTB bradotka is the better model, however Roco have some nice liveries. Both of my Roco Bardotka's have 8 pin sockets, so I've used Zimo MX645R from www.artol.sk (excellent service) Thisi is part no. 72922 which I fitted sound, you also need a 40 x 25mm speaker that fits into the recess, Roco tend to fit 2 x sugar cube speakers now, but I prefer the 40 x 25mm. You can hear it here
  4. Ian, you are quite right, a few more wagons are needed, I have 7 at the moment I reckon another 20 to make up a realistic rake, now where did I put that lottery ticket.....
  5. I have now finished the legs for the baseboards, the next job is to fit the pattern makers dowels for the baseboard joints. I have today received the latest addition to the loco fleet. I have just fitted the Zimo sound chip and I'm just making a few adjustments. Until the next update...
  6. Looking really good Ian, nice work How are you going to fit the doors on the station, they are fitted from the inside?? I know the windows are fitted from the outside.
  7. I've looked at some pictures of Dacice station and it is actually brown, but I like the yellow look so I'm going to stick with that. Not much going on with the layout as I need some more wood for the last set of legs, when these are done I can put the layout up and start to lay some track.
  8. Having been inspired by Ian's Dobríš I'm getting on with this layout. First job was to make the new baseboards as the intended board was 8ft x 18 inches but was one board making it rather bulky to handle, so I have now made 2 x 3ft x 18in boards and 1 x 2ft8 x 18in board, thus give me a slightly longer space at 8ft 8in! I just need to finish the leg supports and fit the pattern maker dowels for the joining of the boards. I've also been busy buiding the station buiding,as previously mentioned these kits are excellent. I've also bought some new wagons, they are PKP falns wagons, they are sometimes pulled by a 753 from OKD Doprava, I only have 7 wagons so far but it should make an interesting passing freight, I have 3 roco in the blue scheme and 3 Fleischnann in the blue/yellow and one in the brown scheme. See here http://youtu.be/6PIkgaMjJVI?list=FL_zg7SsrI_PVkha0Dj0IsLA The locomotive is also ordered to pull these...
  9. Ian, Dobris is coming along nicely, you have given me the inspriation to get on with my new baseboards for Dacice. Have you thought about the station lamps yet? I was looking at these http://www.brawa.de/en/products/h0/pin-socket-lamps/84033-station-light.html or a shorter version http://www.brawa.de/en/products/h0/pin-socket-lamps/84054-curved-arm-light.html What do you think?
  10. Looking good Ian, can you come round my place and build my boards for my Czech layout ?
  11. Ian, I love the 810 railcar, I would love to buy one of those but they work out quite expensive especially when you add sound to them, but very nice all the same. I don't suppose you can really have a station layout set somewhere in the Czech Republic without an 810 though, I'd better start saving!
  12. Ian, do you have any more info on the signals, they sound interesting ?
  13. Looking good Ian, can I ask what type of paints you are going to use on the station building?
  14. That's looking good, the masking is very neat, keep it up!
  15. There hasn't been any progress on the layout itself in the last few weeks, I'm seem to be stuck between the Czech HO and US HO at the moment and i'm not get anything done except buying a few items. Well the only progress on the Czech layout is that before I tackle the rather large station building I thought I would build a smaller structure by the same company, Sikulove. All I can say is what an enjoyable build it was, here is the box for it. And here it is in it's built state which was a couple of hours work. Now you may notice that I forgot to put the curtains in! Ah well it still looks good for a kit that cost under 8 euros.
  16. Well I just tried it with the No.20 but they just look too long, so I changed them for No.18, they look much better. On one end it works really well coupling and uncoupling but the end end just sits up too high and needs to come down a couple of mm!
  17. Well a parcel arrived yesterday. I now have a couple of buildings to build! I have also fitted the sound chip to this 770. You can hear this loco here
  18. Right the freemo layout is at the scenery stage now and has been moved to my son's bedroom as originally intended, so I now have my workspace back. I'm going to ditch the baseboard that I was going to use for this as it was 8ft in one peice which is a bit hefty to move around, I'm going to build some new boards and i'm also able to extend it slightly to 9ft. I will make 3 x 3ft boards still by 18". Since the last update I have sold the Steam loco (to Ian) and purchased a 770 Diesel which is waiting for it's sound chip to arrive from Artol. I have also ordered the station building. http://www.artol.sk/drobne-stavby/1954-sik-111006.html So first up is building new boards...........watch this space.
  19. Thanks Marian I might get one of those when it comes out, I take I just need the sound chip for a V60? Simon
  20. Can anyone tell me if this is based on an actual prototype? http://www.piko.de/pdb_en/index.php?page=detail&grand_id=200&parent_id=2&child_id=3&id=59427 Any info would be useful.
  21. Update - The shed area has been painted and I've added lights to the pit. I've also painted the rest of the boards in a muddy brown colour. I've just finished all the ballasting of the track. Next job is to get some more buildings built, the next one will be the lumber yard. That's all for now
  22. Looking good Ian, makes me want to get on with my Czech layout. Did you build with Freemo in mind?
  23. I think it's actually a Bachmann spectrum chassis which would make it a US loco with a class 47 body! Possibly a dash 8 chassis?
  24. Update, the switches have been replaced with push buttons, one on either side for each point. All the track has had the side rails painted and a weathering, I've also added the hard standing and inspection pit for the engine shed. The shed is also starting to take shape, it just needs the down pipes adding and a good weathering. Next job is some ballasting... That's all for now, you never know it could be a finished module by next years freemo event!
