  1. I’m confused as to why the blue one has a brown underframe and bogies. Is this the base colour for a weathered version?
  2. Maybe they drive on the other side in China.
  3. Just completed PO261 and 263 terraced houses and corner shop for a street scene that will eventually sit above my station in the background. I noticed after gluing the houses and shop together that the rear wall door of the shop now goes up against the rear wall of the house. Has this shop been designed to have a walkway between it and the houses next door? Doesn’t really bother me as it won’t be seen from the front of the layout but I was just curious.
  4. What about when using Partial.ly? The points/rewards etc still apply there as well? I’ve got all my current 4 locos ordered that way.
  5. Yep the body is but it does have separate handrails now and the underframe has been modified to have a kinematic coupling mount at the front and the rear is NEM now. The underframe also no longer has the pivoting rear axle either.
  6. I must be weird cause I quite like those as well haha
  7. I rather like it. Gives it a different look. Each to their own
  8. So I finally managed to get my hands on a Dublo USA Scotsman from a Local shop here in New Zealand. Paid about £150 extra on top of what I paid from Hornby but thrilled to finally have it in my collection. Certificate number 38/500. Interesting to see the changes to the 2nd tender. Especially love the new tender to 2nd tender coupling and the sprung rear buffers.
  9. Is a letter missing or is it supposed to be like that?
  10. They tried that with the Fag Packet coaches and look how bad some of them turned out.
  11. DecalFix from humbrol is another good product for this. Has always worked well for me.
  12. I’ve paid just over half for my sound version. Partial.ly is a fantastic way to pay for models and spread the cost over several months when you don’t have the cash in one go.
  13. It’s definitely a shame since it was such a sought after livery, and even more so that they managed to tampo print it in the 2000’s when they last produced it.
  14. The Fag Packet livery used waterslide transfers along the lower body and as such there were bubbles on some and others that were very misplaced along the length. Your decision whether to accept these issues at a lower price or not.
  15. Heres comparison images for one side of the TSO. Model image from Kernow. Prototype image from LoramUK Twitter Page.
  16. I very much doubt the CFPS would put their name to something if they didn’t feel they had some sway over details and design.
  17. Let’s just wait and see shall we. My GT3 runs well and I can’t fault my Consett wagons. Yes the Fell has some very serious issues, but let’s just see. Gives some hope that they are working with the CFPS on this.
  18. My IKB arrived with a broken Bogie retention post, but it did travel to New Zealand. Gaugemaster are the spares dealer so they sorted it pretty quickly for me. No running issues though.
  19. I would say that’s most likely because their latest King quashed the Hattons King that was planned. Whether or not DJM would have seen it through to completion is another matter but people were quite miffed at the time that Hornby beat out the competition so to speak. Personally I don’t see anything wrong with the new King model, apart from the green paint of course, but others may differ.
  20. Could have been a County or Saint.

    Dapol 'Western'

Looks good. I’ve reserved my sound version.
  22. I have left one end of my Royal Scotsman 66 fully detailed so I’ll have a hunt when I get home for you and see. If no one else beats me haha
  23. He’s only recently got into O in the garden. He was OO long before.
  24. A great loss for Hornby but he deserves to enjoy his retirement. He definitely has done so much more for this hobby than I think we could ever know. A very kind man.
