    Perhaps the piece that mounts to the footplating has been applied slightly too close. Would surely be easier to reattach that in the correct place.

    I believe the previous USA version did have separate handrails but it’s been a few years since I owned it so don’t quote me on that. It still had the pivoting rear axle though. Edit: Photo from Hattons shows the R2953 USA version and it did indeed have separate handrails.

    If they use OO Gauge tension lock couplings on those O Gauge coaches, they would be positively discreet compared to OO Gauge haha

    Looks like they have done some retooling to the 2nd tender as well. Watched a video on YouTube yesterday that showed the underside and the swivelling rear axle is gone. So it’s a new chassis at the very least which is definitely a good sign.

    Thank you for the images. The Knuckle coupler looks a bit on the thin side compared to prototype images, as well as being fitted upside down. Still, looking forward to receiving mine. It’s great they have finally given a different option for the front of the 2nd tender instead of just the old chunky D style coupling loop. Will run so much better being slim to slim tension lock.

    I believe the buffers and their housings are a separate fitting on LNER tenders, at least they were on my A3 a few years back, so they may not be have been pushed home properly.

    Disappointing for a model that was announced 3 1/2 years ago, but nothing different from Dapol really. How long ago was the 59 announced?

    They are just a different type of cylinder drain cock. I assume you have the ones fitted that look like this?

    The 4 pin plug models is just an electrical upgrade. The Britannia was completely retooled in 2005.

    A tiny detail to be fair, and one that most people would never have a clue about. But at the same time created a funnel that is way too oversize and incorrect. Much more glaring error than a tiny wheel.

    I’m pretty sure that’s the case on any of the Castle or King models I have owned so I would imagine it’s the same with this class too.

    Yep I had an email saying they had tried to take payment for my USA one. Unfortunately that will have to wait for payday next Friday.
