  1. Moving the decoder doesn’t really classify as retooling.
  2. The video between Andy and Fran said die cast I’m pretty sure
  3. Unless I’m mistaken, bachmanns 2023 9F’s are not a brand new tooling. They just modified the tooling to allow Consett-Tyne Dock locos to be produced. They have some Evening Star many times since the 9F was introduced and I would think with Hornby’s Evening Star people have the fantastic version. I bought the Bachmann/Locomotion wooden boxes set of 9F Evening Star and Class 66 Evening Star and my Bachmann 9F has been replaced with the Hornby one. Once Acccurascales Class 66 Evening Star is released, both my Bachmann locos will stay in the Wooden Presentation box.
  4. That must be a fairly recent change Hornby made to the A4. All of mine I had bought in the past had no option of front coupling on the bogie. Nice to see that’s changed. Gives the option for preserved reverse running.

    New deltic

If they ever do a purple beast I’m definitely in for one.
  6. That can easily be countermanded by die cast bodies, as has been demonstrated by Accurascale and Bachmann. The new 57xx Pannier Tank has a Diecast body and an LED firebox “enhancement”. Weighs in at 215g. Bachmanns new 94xx also has the same and weighs 285g. Some of Hornby’s bigger locos don’t even weigh that much.
  7. The current A3 and A4 date from 2005ish. With just a DCC upgrade they will be fantastic. A full retool isn’t necessary. Paul Isles confirmed that almost every variation for the 9F was incorporated into the new tooling so Crosti, de-crosti etc will appear in due course no doubt. A full fat DOG would be great idea because I would imagine many people, myself included, would replace the lower detail railroad version with the full spec one.
  8. Has anyone got a copy of the newsletter available? I can’t find it on the website and I haven’t been receiving any lately.
  9. I’d forget all about a dockside railway if I could get my hands on a 12’ model of the great ship 😍😍
  10. I made a bit of an impulse purchase today at my local model shop of R3838 No.78010. Lovely model, great detail, and a fantastically smooth runner. Currently running in as I type. Well done Hornby.
  11. Well Accurascale took over Hattons 66. Perhaps another collab may happen. As far as I can remember without trawling through this entire topic, wasn’t it mainly issues with the mechanism? Body was pretty good.
  12. Pretty prototypical for a 2 cylinder loco isn’t it 😂
  13. To go with a 1/76 Titanic that someone is planning on releasing? I’d be in heaven with a model that big haha
  14. I haven’t received any such email. Was wondering if it will apply to us as well.
  15. As much as I want my Evening Star now, I’d much rather they take their time and get it right! Happy to wait longer.
  16. I was finally able to run my Dinmore Manor today. What a model! Fantastic detail, super smooth running, and sounds amazing. Amazing job Accurascale. Cant wait for my 50’s, 55, and 66 now.
  17. 7714 with sound ordered. Very pleased to see an up to date 57xx Pannier at last. Hopefully an LT version comes as an exclusive.
  18. Well my very first Accurascale model has arrived. 7820 Dinmore Manor with sound. All I can say is wow. I am blown away by the level of detail. I haven’t had the chance to run it yet but so far, it beats the Dapol Manor for me without doubt. One query though, did anyone’s else’s Dinmore come with headboards? I have 3 detail bags. One with nameplates, one with number plates, and one with detail bits. No headboards anywhere.
  19. EBay would be your best bet. Plenty on there last time I searched
  20. Oh no I really hope they don’t mess with it again. I love collecting them year on year. Have every one since 2000. Even the awful attempt that was rushed out in 2016!
  21. Very impressive. Did you custom cut the sides or 3D printed?
  22. Feel free to post pics here. Would love to see it.
