  2. Evening Pete, Looks like some significant progress has been made on CJM which is great to see. At last we have some excellent motive power in the form of the excellent Dapol FGW Class 153. The last shot looks superb and just needs a FL Class 66 below on PCA's. Nice work as ever Pete. Look forward to further updates. Cheers, Mark

  6. Hi Pete, I don't ever recall seeing trees like that down at Moorwater! Be interesting seeing a Class 66 queeze between those! Excellent stuff though and shows some dogged determination. I love the shots of the dries themselves. There is no doubting the location-Wenford Bridge isn't it? Cheers, Mark
  7. Hi Dave, That's fantastic news re: the spare springs. How are these spares going to made available by the way? Once again, thanks for a great product and also being receptive to ideas-such as the availability of these springs. Cheers, Mark
  8. Great stuff Alex! Completely transformed by all accounts. I really like the look you've achieved, giving the area a run down feel. Nice work. Cheers, Mark
  9. Morning Mikkel, What a wonderful cameo with the story bringing the scene to life. Setting the scene on the eve of war adds to the drama somewhat. There's a shade of 'War Horse' about this but I won't say anymore just in case it's the line your going down. Wonderful modelling and as others have said the figure painting is sublime. Roll on Part 2! Cheers, Mark
  10. Hi Nick, There's some lovely work gone in to this model. Looking at that verticle boiler almost reminds me of adding detail to a 1/48 scale jet engine. Great stuff. Cheers Mark
  11. Lovely work on the weathering Jonas. All nice and subtle. Cheers Mark

Amazing what Loreal can do really? :-)

  13. Excellent write up BB. Captures the essence of the build nicely as well. You've made a brillaint job of this fine looking loco. The brass dome looks the business. Await the next instalment! Cheers, Mark
  14. Forgot to say. All aboard all aboard....... Not a reference to the KLF surely?
  15. Evening Pete, Blimey. I thought you had been a bit quiet of late? The station building look superb. The amount of work you've put in to it has certainly paid off. Think Visage's 'Fade to Grey' should be playing in the back ground! I love the backscene as well. It's got just the right feel about it. The quayside and water effect has also worked wonderfully. Some lovely detailing as well to set things off nicely. The 37 looks the part too! Really pleased to see all this hard work coming together. Cheers, Mark
  16. Ian, The more I look at this layout the more impressive it becomes. The south signal box is coming along nicely as well. Brilliant stuff. Cheers, Mark
  17. Evening, Thanks for all your replies chaps. Looking at Simon's and Dave's approach it may be worth sticking with the Dapol magnets sunk in cork. I'm going to order some of these and experiment a bit further on my small shunting plank before I progress on to my main project, All I can say is that Dapol have done a cracking job with these Easi-shunt couplings and should be applauded. Thanks once again. Mark
  18. I brought a multipack of these recently and all I can say is I'm totally impressed. It has certainly transformed shunting and my Farish Class 03/24 are more than happy shunting a few wagons around. I've modified the mounting on the Farish wagons and glued them in place. On one wagon I've reduced the length of the coupling shaft as well. I didn't go down the Dapol magnet route as I'm trying to make this less obtrusive. On my test track using Peco Code 55 track I brought the smallest circular magnets I could get from Maplins. I cut away the sleepers and placed one magnet underneath each side of the rail. Success of sorts. The locos, Presflos and the BR brakevan all uncouple beautifully. The Conflat and 12T box van due to their lightness get sucked down by a powerful magnetic force into another world! The idea on a layout would be to sink the magnet in the same position but in the cork underlay. I'm in the process of planning a layout and was wondering whether anyone had tried this idea or those suggested below? First idea is using the PK Mag electromagnet from MSE? I haven't wired mine up yet-just in case I end up with a spectactular A Team wagon launched in to mid air effect. Is this feasible? The other idea I came across was this piece of kit from Microtrains and wondered if it would work with the Dapol Easi-shunt couplers? http://www.kato-unit...net-8250-0.html Any suggestions or comments welcome. Cheers, Mark

  20. Hi Sylvian, You've done some excellent work detailling the 9F. As CK says you've brought it in to another league. As Mike and CK have said a nice screw link will make all the difference. East Kent Models will sell you one of the latest Hornby mock screw links for a few pounds as well. Look forwards to seeing the finished article! Cheers, Mark
  21. Great shots Rod, You can almost smell Tuckers Maltings as well and the Teignworthy Brewery! Cheers, Mark

  25. Evening Pete, Going to throw my two pennies worth in to this debate just to confuse the issue even more!! I'd go with Jamie and Mikkel on this one. The other options appear to overpower the layout itself and look like a bad day in Princetown! Hope that's of some help if you haven't hit the G&T's already? Plymouth Gin of course! Cheers, Mark
