At least one trader had phoenix paints.. not sure they(phoenix ) still supply them as a rattle can though. They had br blue and grey along with others. Squires had a lot of railmatch paints and other traders had a variety of other paints from various manufacturers. At least two traders sold nuts, bolts, wshers etc as well as all sorts of tubing , wire rod etc. A better more descriptive floor plan and write up may have helped though. Baz

There have been quite a few young visitors to the show. I mentioned that we have junior members at our club. All were very well behaved and had some interesting questions and observations for us to deal with. Baz

After some repairs post Pknte Show we are at Bristol Show this weekend. No major problems apart from. A couple of controllers missbhaving and a couple of naughty locos.very nice comments and feedback have been received which is very nice. Baz

Ey up! Long day yesterday not helped by the M1 and M5 with its new speed limit..50mph.. and NO WORK BEING DONE...Time for liquidated damages to be screwed into contracts for the repai companies. PAH! Got to the Hall ok. Unloaded vsn set up layoutsnd fettled a couple of things which had decided not to work properly. Back to Hotel, couple of beers and a strange schnitzel.. shaped like a Kiev so not flat..but nice. Show opens at 12:30 so.. time to go... @polybear her indoors sorted, priced and placed 396 items of clothing yesterday at her volunteering emporium (Sue Rider). She also filled two large bins of clothes for sale to a local material recycling company.. baz

Ey up! Busy, busy, busy.. Getting picked up at 10 ish. Then off to the club to load van. Then trundle down to Bristol. Hopefully we will have a good weekend.. Ey up! Nice day at Driffield .. excellent teas, warmer weather but... my colleague made a couple of major screw ups wch badly impacted the outcome of the game. Very late home as the A64 eas closed for overnight roadworks...pah! Today its off up the A64 (again) for a game near Malton. I had been asked to umpire games on thursday and Friday but I am off the a show in Bristol on Thursday.. and.. I am a semi retired umpire... Have a good day if you can! Baz

Ey up! Unfortunately in video games if you shoot or knife someone.. they spring back to life when you restart the game.. My view is only the armed forces should be armed.. anyone with a gun or other form of "arms" should be gently volunteered to vebin the armed forces.. Today has no major plan.. but a trip to the Marie Celeste is required to try to book an appointment with Sister Drac. (It's less frustrating if you walk there than hanging on the phone for 40 minutes). Six electrical switches were wired up to some parallel bits of metal. 2 cheap Chinese made switches were U/s when connected up.. pah! Time to gerronwithit as they say! Baz

Ey up! Quite a while ago I took part in some clinical trials using z variety of drugs. Eventually I started on a daily injection of semiglutide.. weight loss was noticeable. I had been on a weekly ozempic jab but its not available for the next year or so.. so they switched me to Rybelsus.. aka semiglutide tablets taken daily. These are a faff and don't seem to be as effective as the jab was. The trials were looking at diabetes effects on the heart. Cardiff specialist hate metformin with a vengeance (as well as starting which they are pretty critical about) Back to today. Its wet.. pah! Her indoorsbis off out playing crumhorns and recorders today. A bit of wire strangling may be achieved. Wooppppiiiiddddooo! Stay safe! @grandadbob get a plan of where you want to visit at Beamish then look at how you can get there by bus tram etc. That way it reduces the walking to get anywhere bit.. Baz

Cvr(t) a Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (tracked) wirh a FV 430 armoured personnel carrier. You can use both on public roads.. Baz

@grandadbob.. Beamish is very large now..so a couple of days may be needed to see most of it... novworries though.. plenty of places to get tea/coffee, food etc. Buses and trams run regularly around the site. Angel of the North.. impressive.. Durham cathedral..by far the best Cathedral in Britain.. Not achieved much today..youngest Herbert was on the losing side today. Baz

Ey up! Back from a visit to Beamish (excellent apart from the weather.. sun, rain, snow and hail on occasion!) Then I decided to head to the Heugh Battery in Hartlepool ( which was attacked by German battlecruisers in 1914). Nice time was had (as was a bacon and egg banjo)... Main gripe.. lorry drivers on main roads. They should ban lorries from the major road system between 8am until 8pm. Why? Well they are governed to 56mph (the big 40 tonnesr have problems stopping if they go any faster) but insist on trying to overtake other lorries..pah! Beamish has been developing a new 1950s area. The work done so far is superb. Minors welfare (oap) cottages, council houses, police Houses (two semis with a police station tucked in the middle) etc. A trip on a bus and a trip on a tram.. excellent day.. but it meant an early bed time! Today.. no cricket umpiring any more but, due to most grounds being quagmire, few games to watch. Have a good day! Baz
