  1. I had to turn the sound levels of the diesels on Shap down when we used the Duettes first used. Once the Gaugemaster (dc) controllers were installed they had a distinct lack of grunt which now has been fixed by Andrew. Baz
  2. Ey up! Ventured out to see youngest Herbert, his fiance and their two dogs last night. Ambled to a local bar and had a couple of pints of Kirkstall mild. This was very drinkable and not too alcoholic. It's chuckinitdarn here. Pah! Got to ho down the Club to move large amounts of barriers etc for use by a muddling show in a place with a large Racecourse and minster this Easter weekend. Could be dirty. Despite what @polybearhas said elsewhere I have not morfed into a new role recently.. I hope to morph out of a current role shortly. Time to get up and get ready! Have a good day! Hopefully our missing ERs are all OK! Baz
  3. But when was the last time anyone bothered to ask the total population what they thought about such subjects? It is presumed that everyone likes on line tax queries and shopping. How do the decision makers know for certain that this is the case.. it seems like this in not correct for at least a portion of the population. Baz
  4. Ey up! Not a lot planned today apart from a potential pint with Youngest Herbertafter he has played hockey. @Dave Hunt @PhilJ W the Indian Air Force used the Gnat in 9ne of their major bust ups with Pakistan.. you see them mounted like an Airfix kit built ones on plinths. time for my mugatea. TTFN! Baz
  5. Not just rhe Boer War.. famous pictures taken at Vickers Elswick Works of big wig Confederates and big wig Unionist on site visits (but not at the same time!) Were part of our sales slides.. Baz
  6. Ey up! Excellent meal last night witha bunch of some very good muddlers.. @polybear all of whom could run rings round some of those you had a weekend with at an Abbey recently.. and their good ladies came along to. ( One of whom is a kit manufacturer in various scales) food is Mediterranean.. very nice, very fresh but.. huge portions... My mum used to be a checkout lady at a supermarket in Peterlee ( @Two_sugars remember Broughs?). Some of the banter was not for my young ears.. iwas despatched to the butter and cheese cooking room... and I still have all of my fingers). Strange, on our last visit to Antipodes a lot of the Woolworths and Coles supermarkets didn't offer bag packing as the were very short of staff @monkeysarefun. I still don't use Amazoo as I totally dislike anyone who thinks they can legally not provide tax to support the infrastructure in the countries they operate in. Sales tax at the point of delivery might put a stop to that.. Time to drink my tea and see what Saturday has to offer.. hopefully some of my self-inflicted akenhead will go away) Have a good day.. Nice to hear from @Dave Hunt! Baz
  7. Of course, when you visited guess who has a gearbox like that in my ready use gearbox draw.. never mind... Baz
  8. Ey up! Late night getting home yesterday.. our refresher course took ages.. due to some people (including one tutor) claing to have no knowledge of thr"concussiondirectives" in cricket.. God help us!!. Interesting meeting otherwise with some familiar faces asking why I am not umpiring... having say all sorts but, in reality, its cos I don't want to... Did a bit of wire strangling yesterday.. I will fettlebit this morning as I made a hash of it yesterday.. Pah! Roadworks around Leeds are a joke. The council give dates which they never achieve and then dig roads up on a whim and await the Waze users to tell people the roads are closed.. @PupCam.. we have anew road "the East Leeds Orbital Ring Road " which has traffic lights.. which automatically go red for the non existent pedestrians.. pah! The "improvements we are having foisted on us at our local roundabout will deliver .. no financial return, will slow down the traffic flow to increase the environmental impact.. it will cost £16m and rising.. but its the 2nd worst roundabout in Leeds..not proven from accident reports.. and will increase the number of cyclists using it! (Hasn't happened any where else we have spent millions on!). No fatalities means.. its not being used to reduce safety concerns.. wot a bunch of muppets!! If they filled in the potholescyclists would use the cycle ways we have currently.. but.. uninsured cyclists who think read means go are really common in Leeds now.. Apologies for the rant but.. Have a good day! Baz
  9. If you want to listen to interesting cricket discussions.. go to India. When you get a discussion in Urdu, punjabi and English (all fielding positions and the odd swear word) makes for an interesting way of summing up a cricket incident! Local cricket around Yorkshire includes the odd word notbin English.. but everyone understands what they mean ie "Shabbash! Shabbash!".. get on with it! Baz
  10. Ey up! Who broke RMWeb then?? Could have been @jamie92208 as his post was the last before the same page appeared again. Never mind.. herself has decreed she will do the shopping (no moreasons breakfast for me then!...PAH!). I have some non cricket paperwork to fo (it's MRS AGM time..) Wallet is still in pain but Beast is happy! I need to plan my trip to robbing Hoods Bay and a muddling show in York..sounds easy but I need a plan! Time to drink my tea and see what Thursday will bring.. a 2 hour cricket refresher session tonight for example..frabjoy! Baz
  11. Beast has returned.. at a little over £500 for a major service etc the inclusion of a full valet seemed good.. and a discount for my next service / garage visit seems fair. @polybearthe garage visited is now an MG dealership.. Two very irate customers were in there.. parts are "delayed" for shipping reasons.. just pray mickey doesn't need any spares... Baz
  12. Ey up! At some point I will collect Beast from the garage. Latest estimate is between 2 and 3 Deltics.. ouch! As it happens I have never eaten a pot noodle.. they don't tempt me in the least. Time to.. brew a pot of tea and then gerronwithit! After the nice weather yesterday its chuckinitdarn.. Pah! Baz
  13. Rod, reel, fisherman's hand, fisherman's arm, fisherman's stool..... Baz
  14. at 6 years old Beast has to have a new cam belt. BUT he has passed the MoT. Service team have not finished the Service due to "illness" but.. they rang to ask where the wheel lock nut was at 4:30pm... its in the handbook holder (where it is for all Mitsubishi cars etc).. I feel a discount being" negotiated"... A good walk from the garage to town for some shopping was undertaken. Bacon sarnie and frothy coffee had for breakfast in a greasy spoon in Leeds Market (I saw a "medium breakfast" on offer at £6 including tea or coffee.. two of everything .. loads of buttered toast etc.. I just couldn't eat that anymore!). New suit , wedding party for the wearing of, was purchased in Next.. in the sale.... (£69 instead of £150). Staff have been thanked on the on line survey.. Herself found a handbag for her "wedding mother of the bride" set up.. not too expensive. Nice coffee and a great Focaccia based cheese/ salami/ham and rocket sandwich for me and lasagne and fizzy water for her was enjoyed with an Italian owned Coffee Bar in town.. excellent! A bit more walking about then a bus home.. all in glorious sunshine this afternoon! This means the storage batteries are now full.. great ... @BSW01 I have looked at the Hornby mag - I hate the added "smoke" on the photos of Shap not like the real thing at all.. but nice to be mentioned and some of my stock is in the photos. Similarly a copy of the Toddler has been bought.. pictures in there are superb! and nice mention from "Red Leader" in both articles. Now .. its time for tea! Baz
  15. Ey up! Off to take Beast for his annual service and MoT! Wish me luck! Baz
  16. Ey up! Busy day yesterday wespecially when the sun appeared. Unmentionables were spray painted, other muddling was completed and all was well with the world. Mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce were eaten then.. the on line AGM was attended.. some people should learn to use brain before gobbling off! A couple of people proved that they can't read.. then someone tried to stitch me up.. pah! Not big or bright enough to do that! Today will involve a walk (need to collect bread from the bakers), sanding some items acting as baseboards and a lick of paint for these items. Stay safe.. TTFN! Baz
  17. Bit of ink and some dry powder added while damp then aquish the goo I to a proper grease mark using a cotton wool bud.. Baz
  18. If itctastes as good as it looks.. yummy! Baz
  19. Ey up! I eat most things.. don't like mackerel or avocado (tasteless green putty to me unless it's turned into pured toad aka guacamole). Having said that if I will eat everything if its a meal with someone els3 cook8ng or paying for it (so yes I have eaten curried snake and fresh out of the tank carp in Malaysia). Got a muddling meeting to attend today butbits a nothing to do list in today's orders from her indoors. @BSW01 yes.. like the article, hate the badly photos hopped smoke and steam editions to the photos. Have as good acday as you can! Baz
  20. @polybear take a stotty. Slice across the middle. Apply butter or marg to suit. Add boiled ham and peasecpudding on one side of the stotty. Eat.. you could add pickled red cabbage or beetroot if you are that way inclined. Excellent. And no its not barf its dal by another name! Baz
  21. Ey up! Saveloys.. food of the gods and very traditional in the North East as is pease pudding (even I can make that! Savoury Ducks, Brawn, pigs cheek, trotters, tongue.. yep! Black puffing.. definitely! Young people don't know how well we lived.. suet Puddings (snake and pygmy or leek) were nice in the winter along with spotted duck and custard. Mushy peas (dried peas left with a blue bag in some water overnight were always better than marrowfats on theirvown. Belly pork, roasted with crackling was a favourite too (belly pork is now quite trendy as "bites"). Sunday evening fry ups (and veg left from dinner would be mashed together then fried till crisp at the edgegs).. penachaty (sliced potato and sliced onions and carrot simmered with some bacon and served with corned dog and a hint of tomato sauce) was good for the soul. When the spring cabbage and new potatoes were around my grandma would simmer these in a pan, fry up some bacon and then serve on a warmed plate. Bacon placed over the potatoes and cabbage then the bacon fat would be drizzled over the whole veg "pile". Must be time for breakfast! TTFN! Baz
  22. Ey up! Enjoyable time at a mates and then down the Club last night "playing". Today will involve a shopping trip to moreasons ..then.. muddling/going walkabout (although this will depend upon the weather). Positive thoughts to any of our ERs who are unwell or missing in action. Baz
  23. In decoder Pro have you looked at the mapping of lights etc? It's on the comprehensive programming nit? Baz
  24. Send young Mr Petty (aka Charlie) an email? I will eventually drag him onto our WhatsApp group for the club... Even 8n German the ESU book is hard to grasp!! Baz
  25. Ey up! Happy Birthday to our Sand Dancer! @New Haven Neil. Hope you have a great day! Busy day.. some shark wielding then a trip to see a friend and drivel on with some like minded individuals and an inspection on progress of a model of Osbaldwick. Time to get my body into gear! Stay safe and well! Baz
