  6. early finish umpiring today - too tired to do modelling so - time for Pub!!!!

  7. green duchesses dirty - good job I did them before I had my finger broken while umpiring a cricket match (don't ask its all too complicated......)

  8. Watched cricket then because of youngest son (who managed a senior league century at 17) I have become - a qualified scorer, coach and have been an umpire for the last 6 years. On most summer saturdays I get a free tea and expenses to stand for 100 overs enjoying a game of cricket - and a chance to see some really good players (A number of ex county and international players) including Nick Bresnan - Tims older brother. My current favourite player on the international scene is Bresnan - just watch out for Johny Bairstow - a future England player. Cricket - lovely cricket ........ and thanks to TMS an enjoyable game to listen to!
  9. Aren't holidays great! but I forgot to bring my weathering gear so two clean Greem Duchesses will stay as .....clean green Duchesses !!

  10. Just got a few shots to add here as I have been scanning old photos. First a rusty wagon on Cwmafon Colliery and a nice simple Airfix 16T - more to come (I hope)

To repeat Andy's reply to a similar SU earlier: "Please read http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/39265-getting-bumped-off-rmweb/page__view__findpost__p__442165 - The SU column isn't the place to ask fault related questions."

  12. until
Plans in hand - we will continue to provide entry to 3 children with a full paying adult. Trader invites in progress with a lot of replies to date - update in April will include layouts and confirmed traders
  13. how will you motorise it - the ones we did have a ds10 with shafts and drop boxes to get all axles driven - but you need that with a whitemetal body - these look very light so are you using a commercially available drive
  14. LOR on Herculaneum - can we weather it? yes we can

  15. signal time methinks!!

  16. The three Lance Jacks on Leeds Trams were all made from whitemetal kits - so somewhere in the world a master is lurking! Interesting roof as all of the Miggie Bogies on Leeds Trams are made the same way as are a lot of the building parts. Hopefully some of Leeds Trams is on its way back into Public view BUT NOT the whole 48' of tramathon
  17. Could I have three from across the 60, 70,80, 90 and 2000's...... probably not What inspires me...... High Dyke - long trains of mineral wagons and fast expresses Corris - Peter Kazer -if only my locos ran half as well as his Eastwell Ironstone Company - how to get Industrial locos out int he country... Luckily I count some of the builders of these as friends. I haven't included layouts from within Leeds MRS so of course I couldn't include Herculaneum Dock/Cwmafon from Mike Edge, Denroyd and Windermere from Nick Easton, Everingham from Alan Smith, Ynysybll Fach from the Gibbons, Leeds trams from Andy Ross - and our long time 4mm layout Leeds Victoria - Dewsbury Midland - Bradford City Road - whichs et me off to build lots of wagons, carriages and locos..... and then the layout was scrapped.
  18. no exhibitions this weekend - too busy cricket umpiring - and before you ask - it's 6 a sides indoor!

  19. Why is my layout 6 inches too long to fit into the room????

The solution is simple: knock a hole in the wall.

Far too complex Ivan... just mount the layout at 45 degrees and claim it's on an incline!
