  1. Huge price increase since the last time I purchased in 2014. Now £14 per pack. Just ordered 2 packs. Thnx
  2. Never have a go at doing a jigsaw puzzle then. Those ones that take some people days or even weeks to do would cost a fortune if you had to pay yourself. It would be cheaper to just buy a picture then rip it up. I have never considered charging myself for something I enjoy doing.
  3. I once got a call from an Asian sounding chap with a withheld number, not interested in what he had to say I just said F*** Off and slammed the phone down. Within the minute it rang again and the same chap said "same to you, sir" and hung up. I had to smile and chalk one up to him.
  4. Train - a series of connected railway carriages or wagons moved by a locomotive.
  5. I am getting multiple calls from two numbers to my mobile since this morning purporting to be from Iran, one after the other, and voicemails being left. I don't know anyone in Iran so I have ignored them, even switched my phone off for a while. They have also been trying to call me on Whatsapp. There were also two text messages of which one was مامه حسین چونی زنگه کم بو له ده زور صروری I translated it in Google and it says 'Mama Hussein Chonji is a low-lying forceful agent' Any ideas on what this is about... some kind of scam?
  6. I thought that may have been an anagram, I had to google him. Suits him though. Yes, another vomit inducer.
  7. Paul O'Grady... I want to vomit when I hear his voice.
  8. I saw new white platform edge lines were being manually installed yesterday. They came in a tin and were stuck down with a hand operated brush.
  9. Was it Graham Hubbard who said adding sprung buffers at the factory ends up costing £15 extra on the retail price by the time everyone along the chain adds their margin.
  10. Whilst I have the iron out to solder the droppers to the rail, I prefer to solder them to the bus also.
  11. This new toy turned up on Friday, only just arrived in the U.K. An Epiphone based on Gibson's '63 Thunderbird IV.
  12. On one of the news bulletins I heard that car owners were advised to contact their insurance companies... Really? I don't suppose they would have thought of that. I suppose what they are saying is vehicles are parked at the owners risk and they will be giving no refunds of parking charges.
  13. Playing with these toys tonight will pay for a few new locos.
  14. I'm surprised that none of the signalling experts have come to help yet. Placing your signals in the right place will give a more prototypical look and feel to your layout and you have done right by coming here and asking for help. Maybe with it being the run up to Christmas they are busy with other things but I'm sure they will be back to show where you need to place your signals. Like you, I am not very knowledgeable in that area either.
  15. I went to my local Maplin and although their stock listing said 2 in stock the staff member could not find any 2.2 watt bulbs. The only 12v MES bulb they had was a 1.2w which I have now fitted. Yes, it does appear to be for indication only as the controller works without the bulb.
  16. I was recently given this controller but it is minus its overload(?) bulb, any idea what size/rating it should be?
  17. This 12mm WBP ply was perfectly flat when I bought it from a local timber merchant, this is what it was like the next day... Edit, It needs no supports to stand up though...

    WTF

I did once take a 5ltr tin of B&Q white exterior paint back, it said on the tin no quibble refund if you are not satisfied. The checkout assistant noticed there was paint running down the side of the tin, and asked if I had opened it. I said yes, and I have used half, that is how I know it is rubbish. I had given a wall two coats and could still see through it. I said I don't want a refund, I would put the extra couple of pound to it and change it for a tin of Dulux. Certainly Sir.

    WTF

B&Q had an offer on emulsion paint, buy one for £18 or two for £24. I only wanted one so never bought any as in my mind it was costing £6 too much. Maybe I should have stood in the aisle with a placard looking for someone to go halves with.

    WTF

I've read on here that it's called marketing, and those who do it seem to be quite pleased with themselves.
