Hi guys - I've got 10 Lima Class 50s to renumber but sadly when i try wet n dry or TCut it take the paint off - any ideas about what to use to take them off without removing the paint too ?? Cheers Ben

Well possibly not - a lot of them do seem to be sold out ..... Its basic business really - maximum profit for minimum effort ....... why not, I would if I were Bachmann. Make hay whilst the sun shines - am sure there will be a new one out soon from somebody so get in before its announced.

Hmmmm - lets see come 9am tomorrow ..........

Mine turned up today and straight in the spray bath ... slightly fiddly to take apart and gonna be a right b**gger to put back together but got there in the end. Sadly the Bachmann glue man was as heavy handed as usual with the glue for the glazing but will get that sorted .... Anyways - number 1 will be going into DB Schenker Livery as 90018 and the second one will be EWS as 90031 ..... I'll post pics of progress on my workbench thread - Bens Resprays ...... Ben

Caved in and just bought 2 to respray into DB schenker & EWS Liveries .........

l think as it stands the Bachmann 90 has set the standards and raised the bar - so i guess thats probably a minimum standard - whether there's a raised pan or not is a bone of contention - but certainly ease of fitting a chip, lighting options - i think thats a minimum and if you can do it for around the same price then i think you're on to a winner - if you can add raising and lowering of the pan for DCC for the same price then your deffo in the ball game ......... if you can do it cheaper .... well .......

Anyone got any idea on the correct paint shade to use for the Maritime Blue ??

A big thank you to Andy for permission to post this ..... Bit silly this considering its not in this livery currently .... yes i know people may model the era where it wore that but surely the current fade away livery on a 57/3 would be more apt - especially as there isn't a RTR model available. Seems to me this livery must be causing the manufacturers and issue as no 37s have appeared in it either - tho that may be to do with WIPAC lighting - tho with the 20/3s coming sometime, that might change in the near future....

Only saw the second part fully and wasn't too bad a documentary - i especially liked the part where I had a starring role at the annual gatecrashing of the Warley show - imagine my surprise to find myself staring at my ugly mug in HD on my TV !!!!! Did like the Rails and Hattons reactions to the various announcements ........... I have to agree with them to be honest. Anyways - if anyone wants an autograph - form an orderly queue and sadly for everyone as I'm now world famous then Bens Resprays prices have just doubled !!!! (only kidding about that part) ...... I've got a rake coming and aside from the lower bodyside grey - they dont look bad - I'll just have to get the airbrush out ... shouldn't have to but, needs must ..... I'll post some pics when done. Ben
