  1. Only members matter. The rest of us do not.
  2. I haven't been a subscriber for 20 years so I may have missed "it"...
  3. I know you can't please everyone - but so far there hasn't been one limited edition, exclusive model or special event that has been of interest to me. The only benefit I get is the discounted price, but it seems strange that it is 'my choice' not to take advantage of 3 of the 4 benefits you mention. The only model I could probably get away with is the Satlink brake van as I've picked up some of the Lima Satlink models over the years.
  4. I have an MR subscription but have never taken advantage of any of the reader offers as they are not things that I personally need or am interested in. It frustrates me that as a new subscriber you get all sort of 'hook' offers but once you're in, tough, and I was told it's best to cancel your subscription at the end of the year then start a new one to get the gifts but if you just keep going, you get nothing. Would be nice to feel a 'valued customer' occasionally with a freebie, I must have had a sub for about 5 years now.
  5. One thing that really annoys me with a number of other websites is when they refuse to work on IE or Edge, because the programmers choose to block their use rather than for any real technical reason or they write sloppy code which doesn't work properly everywhere (I write websites using Notepad... that works pretty much everywhere). RMWeb always used to be one of those that worked regardless but now I have been forced into Windows 10 I don't want to end up with half a dozen browsers installed and trying to remember which I need to use for each site. The internet is one internet and therefore any modern browser should work on any website on any PC that is kept up to date.
  6. Hello, On my new computer I cannot use spaces in posting message content. Space works fine in topic title but once I hit the main body box to type my message, space simply does not work. If I go to "preview post" as I have done here I can then type the message I want, formattedjustthewayIlikeit, and all is well. I note I only have 2016 and mobile themes available so I can't try that trick. Am I alone in this, is it a known problem, or is everyone simply not using Edge? 'Nut
  7. Hi all Having finally gotten round to unboxing my VBA van, I note that there are two loose handbrakes in the box and seemingly no instructions. There are no obvious ways of attaching although I know they go from the V hanger so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend the best glue to use to keep them on there - and if there's a good reason why they aren't attached in the first place? Many thanks 'Nut
  8. Whilst looking for something else, I noticed this thread and nobody had responded. I happen to have one on my desk and the measurements are: Body length: 234mm Body width: 62mm Roof length:235mm Roof width: 65mm Length over buffers: 250mm Although my box says VAA, the TOPS panel actually says VBA, it's the late brown version and I assume it's all the same. Hope that may still be of some help...?
  9. I had a leaflet through the door today offering cut-price coffins. I thought to myself "that'll be the last thing I need".

  11. Hi Shadow Any chance you can update the map now that I've moved to SP11 (Grateley)? Yes it's technically outside the SECAG area but still, until someone else volunteers to take over I guess I'm still the group owner.
  12. One of my friends is absolutely mad on Abba, and she invited me round to her new house to see the display. She has an impressive collection of Abba memorabilia all over the walls. But for me, the best bit was the Abba themed bathroom. You should see it. What a loo.
  13. Maybe that's because not everyone subscribes to BRM therefore we have no answer to give you... Plus what you term "bonus content" is simply 'recycling old material that subscribers probably already have'.
  14. Took the mrs 4 hours to get home from Waterloo for what should be a 70 minute journey. She was not impressed. Lineside fire outside Waterloo this morning has knocked out platforms 1-9 and its utter chaos.

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

Cold air will have fed that fire really well, too.

  15. NSE/early sectorisation period, somewhere in the south. I wish I'd bought some of the Farish CEPs when they were out as they would have been ideal. Sadly Ebay prices are beyond what I can justify at the moment. Also planning an O gauge layout, and waiting for the warmer weather to build a shed for the OO layout which might also go round the garden...
  16. Lack of time. Something I can definitely identify with. Looking at making a small N gauge layout with minimal expense (as I have a lot of stuff, in boxes) and this / Smithdown Road style layouts really appeal to me (I think I met you at Tonbridge a couple of years back and we had a chat about it) but it's simply trying to get the right track plan which I seem good at failing to do, even if I try and follow yours to the millimetre it doesn't fit!
  17. Another "me too" for the inclusion of a trackplan unless it's something very basic where an overall shot clearly shows what goes where. Something like Smithtown Road Junction (one of my personal favourite layouts and one thing that really tempts me back into N), for example, would be virtually impossible to follow without a clear plan.
  18. Express have "discontinued" selling Patronics so perhaps an email to them may uncover a reason as to why - if in fact they have stopped trading then that's probably your answer. I guess they are quite dated by today's standards and perhaps they have just called it a day?
  19. What Patronics products were you looking for? Express Models are selling the lamps http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/Street___Station_Lighting.html Signals show up on Ebay from time to time too.
  20. I hear they're bringing out a film next year based on the story of Eddie Stobart. I'm looking forward to seeing the trailer.
  21. There is an 'echo' function under effects although you could also add that with free audio editing software such as Audacity once files are transferred to the PC. stand-clear2echo.mp3
