  1. I have no idea how to do it but resin bodies must be an option, too. However don't forget that the 4 car unit was the most common, it's only recently that 3's and 5's have appeared and run in combo. That may be a better place to start as basically they are all the same, two driving vehicles and just something different in the middle. Unfortunately as you say, it's only one of the big guys who are likely to have the capacity to bulk produce a unit at a price that we can afford, in the variety of liveries available now. Given how many of the existing EMU's have sold out (apart from green - that doesn't seem to be so popular) it has to be on somebody's radar...
  2. Sorry to hear about the layout but I'm sure better is on the way eventually. Incidentally, if you're still looking for a donkey, https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/rehome Not sure what the postage would be though.
  3. Do you think the St Ivel tanks will ever appear? I have 5 on pre-order for a layout I want to build.
  4. I'd take a couple of Southern ones if the price was right... I know you can get the cabs and "DIY" your own but I don't have the skills or time for that.
  5. Right. A "Jaffa cake" livery Desiro. Can't figure out why. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-31-032-DCC-HOWES-SOUND-REFINISHED-BR-NSE-JAFFA-CLASS-350-1-DESIRO-EMU-p-/371522283197?hash=item56807426bd:g:XSgAAOSwaA5Whq-5
  6. I met two Thai girls in a bar last night. We got chatting and they asked if I'd like to go back to their hotel for some "fun". "Two beautiful Thai girls, it will be just like winning the lottery" they said. So off we went, back to their room, and we all stripped off. They were right, it was just like winning the lottery. Six matching balls.
  7. Never mind, there's a box from Hattons coming in the morning, containing something that if the move goes ahead, will be running in 12":1ft form past the end of the garden four times an hour. Revenge for the big squishy parcel from a clothing company that I signed for yesterday...
  8. If only ... but being in a similar position to you in having a hopeful house move, and not knowing quite what space I might have, or when I might have the money for, a "man cave" I think it's silly for me to even contemplate picking up "more clutter" when I already have "enough bloody railway stuff" to move. The fact that there are six crates and two bin bags of wool for forthcoming "knitting projects" in the bedroom is, of course, completely irrelevant.
  9. Didn't know about a "Reigate" show ... local to me. There's another DD Events though it seems... https://www.facebook.com/ddclubevents/
  10. I happened to pass by the Peco shop whilst on holiday this week and the catalogue shows "2017" for the setrack points but they wouldn't be any more specific at this time.
  11. A pair of Hoovers on the Bluebell at the diesel gala. Rostered rest days that weekend. Couldn't ask for much more.
  12. BEP now pre-ordered and I already have an MLV so just need to find another reasonably priced CEP to make a full set. When did things suddenly become so expensive?
  13. I'll have a BEP, thank you very much Bachmann. A bit of a no-brainer really as at least 75% of the work was already done However I wish the BEP was unpowered. With tests my CEP would happily pull 8 coaches trailing, so there's no real need for the BEP to be powered as well. I wonder what price difference there would be between a powered and unpowered version? Given that the BEP is likely to be over £200 based on current pricing, running a 12 car set is a bit eye watering. Especially if you need more than one...
  14. True fact, if you rearrange all the letters of "Dyslexia" ... D A I L Y S E X
  15. I'd have thought "wot" was a better answer to that eon.
  16. Another from Gosturd, nearly bought it until I saw the condition and saw the seller. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LIMA-REFINISHED-BR-WESTERN-GREEN-CLASS-50-DIESEL-LOCO-50007-SIR-EDWARD-ELGAR-na-/371220357086?hash=item566e751fde:g:X-oAAOxyVaBS7~pj
  17. I heard it did nearly a quarter of a million pound's worth of improvements...
  18. I'm in trouble again. My wife weighed herself last night and bemoaned having put some weight on over Christmas. Apparently "congratulations on a new high score" is the wrong answer.
  19. Is there a secret to de-cluttering? How do you throw things away knowing for sure you aren't going to need them in a couple of weeks time?

Your wife/mother will give you 'advice' on what you don't need, and the last time you used said item.....

well I think I can clear some clutter by making a layout but don't know what shape to make, either a 4ft square, a 5ft x 4ft L shape, or a 6ft 6 x 4ft U shape, out of the same 3 boards to create an N gauge tram layout

Just do what the Senior Female Person-in-Charge instructs you to do, do it with a smile and gratitude.

  20. Thanks for the video, I've got the Southern green one on pre-order, due soon apparently.
  21. I'm in trouble again. Got sent out for some crackers to go with Christmas dinner. Apparently Jacob's are the wrong ones.
  22. Facebook are obviously now analysing your photographs in order to provide targetted advertising. It's the only conclusion I can think of based on the amount of cosmetic surgery adverts I've received lately.
  23. I think the reason I hate christmas so much is that you're bombarded with it from September onwards and I just get fed up with it, especially all the commercialism that has nothing to do with why Christmas exists.

Try guarding a 'Santa Special' for a day - I now hate ALL popular Christmas songs!

The roads clogged up by people going into town or other retail outlets desperately trying to find things that they could/ should have bought online and had delivered. Grr...

  24. Fresh as the moment when the lightbulb went pop... anyone got a candle?

  25. Have you ever wondered why the A-Team drove such a distinctive van that would have been instantly recognisable to any passing law enforcement officers?
