  1. Great pics ...think you've got the weathering spot on there Richard. Dave
  2. Think you've got the worn concrete effect nicely. What is this 'Black Friday' malarky....another imported Americanism, I suppose?? Dave
  3. You might have something there DT....and although I've had it for years, the 319 could do with a little light weathering. Dave
  4. Thanks all......RBE...yes,its a digital SLR...Cannon 650..I think....and I have it on a tripod. You sound like you know your way around an SLR, RBE....so I'll take note of your instructions!! The other pics were shot with an old cheap Samsung AF point and shoot......I have the lense set to MF rather than AF on the SLR, so I'll see if I can set the F number to the highest setting....although I dont know how..I'll have a go! This is the camera that I'll be doing videos with...so hope I can get to grips with it. Dave
  5. Thanks Tase. As for infrastructure trains , I have some of the NR IOA and JNA wagons and the Sea cow type. Would love one of the Dapol NR side tippling sets, but not until they come down below £100, if that happens. I know the Railtrack ones have. If they ever make NR yellow version of the Autoballaster, Id have some of those too. Dave
  6. Thankyou chaps. Some more pics tonight ...mainly for our Southern bretheren...trying out the new camera too. Not sure if I prefer the pics from my old camera or this new fangled thing?? The colours are vivid, so hope it doesnt make it too 'toylike'? But then again the FCC livery is quite vivid, so it might be that? Would appreciate any input on this. This is the first one without sound, as nobody does a 319 sound file.....at least I havent seen one. Dave
  7. Yes it's on this thread somewhere...not sure where though....but its about 7.7m x 2.9m about 25ft x 9.5 ft. Dave
  8. Class 70 on Bogey tankers and a 225 set at Platform 3 in Minsterley Station. Next up, hopefully, will be a FCC 319. Dave
  9. Got to add my bit of praise....like others above, sent for a RM 128 last Thursday afternoon and it arrived Friday midday. And only £69. Setting the bar very high,I think!! Great stuff. Dave
  10. Many thanks to you chaps for your kind comments. Wish I could get more done, but bogged down with work at the mo. Got my GNER 225 set up and running yesterday...all fans and blowers...etc... and a big TEA oil train, class 70 hauled...although not sure if 70's have ever done tankers...I'm sure they must be as powerful as the 60's. Dave
  11. Working on it Tase. Just need to get a bit of spare time away from work. Yes Gary, Hi-vis, PTS, a COSS and 2 look-outs! Not taking any chances!! Thanks chaps Dave
  12. A few pics from today. Got the HTA coal hoppers going. Busy times at Penbury Station. Dave
  13. Many thanks Rod. Yes I did work on the railway Pway & Surveying, but not for over a year, just mundane Civils construction now. If you're a driver and you like it, I must be doing something right. Dave
  14. You just can't get the 'staff', nowadays! Dave
  15. Many thanks for the kind comments chaps. No progress tonight...heavy day at work and Im 'cream crackered' (picture number 4 might give you a clue), but hope to get things moving again tommorow night. Dave
  16. Just finished re-positioning and connecting up the signal gantry tonight and brought another train into action, Chiltern 168. Freightliner 08 too. Love its whistle. Dave
  17. Brilliant stuff. The housing estate's excellent. Wish you could come round and do mine as its the last area that needs doing on my layout. The street lights are just the thing. Can I just ask how did you bend the brass tube without crimping it? Dave
  18. Managed to get it half done tonight. Just got to join all those signal wires up again and re-do the ohle. Cheered myself up by getting the Desiro running. What a noise, you'd swear you were about to be abducted, when that powers up. Dave
  19. Well in the 3rd rail department I have 2x 466's, a 4 CEP,416, MLV, and of course the 319, which is dual voltage. I think some of the 350's at one time were juice rail units, well dual anyway. Oh and a Eurostar. If Bachmann ever did the 444's or 450's or any other emu's I'd have one. Dave
  20. Many thanks chaps. Still one or two things to do. Main thing is the moving of the signal gantry in Minsterley Station. Thought Id positioned it right first time, but the 9-car Pendolino tells me differently.
  21. More locos coming on-stream this evening. Ariva 158, and X-country Voyager..see pics below. Got my DRS 66 up and running too. Next up, Class 350 Desiro, but it needs a bit of re-wiring first, so might be the Chiltern 168. Dave
  22. Cheers chaps...yes very pleased...the best thing about it is bringing another loco into action...its like getting a new prezzy every time. Just got the lower track and ramp cleaned and working tonight, so I can put together trains ready for the off and programme locos now, in the fiddleyard. Dave
