  1. Rob they do have Ben Jones on their books he might be an ear to bash.
  2. Mine has a piece of 12mm long, 2mm I.D. brass tubing inserted into the pony truck you wil need to drill out 3mm for it fit & secured with super glue the size of the tubing allows for some sideways movement of the new pair of Romford 3' 2" wheels which were fitted and the largest blod of lead I could hide behind the wheels glued on above the axle then the whole lot was sprayed matt black, it's an old trick I used when building white cast kits to stop the wear. see post 865 and click on the photo
  3. There is a fair bit of plastic to trim off before the plates sit flush but it's certainly worthwhile to replace them, I put masking tape around the old ones to avoid any damage to the cab sides if the scalpel blade wanders.
  4. Hello Peeps The Plasterer has been and gone it was nice to find some one who liked doing a good job and he cleaned all the mess up hopefully I can mist coat it (20% water 80% paint) on Monday once that is dry 2 futher coats of white matt will be applied then walls can then be done followed by the skirting should be done by Friday easy peasy said SWMBO. PAH !! GDB enjoy your cruise remember once the boat starts rolling it's time to stop boozing and walk behind your Bossness so you can slide off if the need arises and when she scowls where have you been say the loo I did tell you I thought you heard me, make sure you are kneeling at the time. Tony my Fiesta has SatNav all I do is swear at it, I hate a smart-ass. enjoy whats left of the day youall I Deller
  5. Rob do something with those undersized cab plates.
  6. Watching the pennies I bid on a LMS full brake on fleebay I losted it by pence some one had a greater need than me but Hattons had another one at 49p dearer so that is on it's way to me I'm finding people are grossly bidding OTT on stuff it's pushing prices up at a rapid rate these days. Mr Hardup.
  7. I use to baby sit these two Barney black one was a year old Alfie the white one was 5 when the photo was taken, Barney is the size of a Shetland pony now.
  8. Afternoon Peeps I have this vision of GDB washed and ironed and hanging from the picture rail in the bedroom with a note pinned to his shirt not to be moved till required. Back in Builders clothes today I cleared the dinning room of all the furniture and fixtures removed for the Plasterer tomorrow to skim the ceiling, hats worn today are Builder, Electrician, Labourer and Slave, SWMBO was in brainless mode today she said after the Plasterer had been she wanted me to put everything back in the dinning room clear the lounge decorate that room then clear the dinning room AGAIN to decorate in there. Last night I had a bit of luck when moving a storage heater out of the way to decorate a few weeks ago I broke 2 ceramic chocy-blocks which hold the eliments in I spent a week tracking down some new ones which were installed and the heater is back up and working I saved £500 on not getting a new heater, a sign on the back says "no cosumer parts available" and a couple of phone calls made to dealers to be told they can't be fixed you need a new one what a con !. Later Each and Every
  9. Sad new everyone, I'm sure it's wind up time on this thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/133404-Hornby-to-end-the-thomas-the-tank-engine-range/

  11. Forgive me for putting a funny on your post you mentioned Ben Jones the man who cut MDF with a water jet
  12. Afternoon Peeps and Spikey Things Her went shopping today I asked her to get me some aftershave and could have a diiferent type this time please, guess what turned up another one named after her "BOSS" an Orange one this time instead of the usual one in the black bottle. Today many hours have been spent on the scenery of the layout today trees bushes and hedges planted and rough grass laid on the embankment slopes I was hoping to grit the road which was stuck down earlier but the adhesive had not cured, dratt. Plasterer called to say could he come Saturday instead of Sunday it suits us so the dinning room area will be cleared tomorrow and some sticky floor covering put down we will decorate that area once the plaster is dry so there is only one lot of mess once done I fancy a week away in the Cotswolds providing this weather holds out till the end of May . My friend Steve texted to say the British Airways museum visit has been booked I'm hoping to pick up some information there on the Imperial Airways flying boats and the trains which took the passengers down to Plmufff Would some one tell me how I can be on the AA list it sounds advantageous. haveagoodoneall Nigel
  13. Blown the photo up reveals it a Southern van judging by the roof line and planking.
  14. I thought you were I do hear that you still watch Chuggington.
  15. Some where we could shove Spams to keep him quiet.
  16. Morning Peeps and Pointy Things Today started with a senior moment SWMBO tried to turn the TV off with the telephone As it's warming up outside I will be spending the day working on the layout and may run some trains. Her is going to do some gardening, now matey next door has finally put up a new fence after it fell down at Christmas, a cat had started to dump in the planters so I've smeared some grease on the top of this fence to deter the thing from climbing over it was fun watching the stupid animal try and paw up cobble stones that Her had placed in the planters I keep telling her we need a dog but that falls on deaf ears. enjoy your day Casey J
  17. My daughter lives next door to a ex Herpes driver and a truck turned up every morning and sacks of parcels were thrown off the back of the truck there was nothing delicate about this operation you could hear the stuff crunching as it hit the deck that's why I always sign D Amaged for anything that arrives via this bunch of #ratts it's a real cheapskate outfit which most of the catalogue companies use.
  18. Rob why don't you do a before and after then every one will be happy Simples
  19. Afternoon good people shock and amazement SiL Chris pitched again up and dare I say finished the job off I do think SWMBO has had a word with the daughter to prompt him, that's not bad considering he said he would do it back in Septmberand started it 6 weeks ago suffice to say we are having a ceiling skimmed Sunday by a proper Plasterer instead of waiting round for months on end for him to get his butt into gear and do the job. My mate GDB must be pre-occupied today in the bedroom "NO" don't even go there he has his layout in one of them he I thought he might give me an answer my question by now perhaps a senior moment occurred I do worry . While I'm on does anyone have any Bachmann Salt Union open wagons they want to shift on, competitive prices paid. Arthur Dailey Railway Dealer
