  1. Rob mate what did you use for curtains in your Centenary stock I'm close to finishing some of mine. Cheers Bob
  2. Now your being silly. I was only called Robert by my family and if it was my parents It would normally mean I'd be in the sh!t for doing something wrong followed by a whack on the butt.
  3. Andy you forgot to mention the flying helmet and goggles which are a must have when playing with wet lettuce or you could have you eye out . Speak for yourself. I had a bit of sabre rattling elsewhere on this forum last night all over a toy train I just hope it gets better today. Enjoy your day.
  4. Heljan aren't the best buildier on the block as we know, so lets see what comes out of the box next week the 0-6-0 tank engines I own were fine they got slaughtered before they were released and that was mainly by the armchair modeller who I bet couldn't put an Airfix kit together.
  5. Warning don't read this post too quick.
  6. I've just surfaced from the stairwell where much filling and sanding has been done even SWMBO has had grit paper in her mits sanding the spindles on the stairs, lazy buqqer that I am it's something you can't do with a power tool so I enlisted HER to do it. I had a quick look in this morning and see Jamies post on GDB doing some exercise even HER laughed. It's 3 days now doing prep work for painting which should commence tomorrow or Sunday by this time next week I should be done then it's another Epijural injection in the spine the following week then I have to by order of the doctor rest up for 2-3 weeks I am allowed to become a real lazy b'stard and do some modelling and weather permitting run some trains out in the cold garage if it warms up.
  7. It's no worse than the 1363 saddle tank there is far less work to bring it upto scratch and no additional carbuncles to remove, the clueless moaners keep coming on here saying it don't look right I wish for once they would say whats wrong with it like some that have expressed an opinion like SM Mike and others instead of just moaning and saying nothing.
  8. My condolences to you both on your truly sad loss.
  9. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  10. Did some one say your nick-name was LUCKY
  11. You have been watching to many High Chapparal programmes on Saturday night, It's a Gupta railway not the bloody wild west. Gunga Dinn
  12. My one is due another new motor as stated above it will be the same MRRC 5 pole one as yours which was in a SEFC King for many year and is still good.
  13. Those spam thingy look the same blurred or otherwise. I've done some more decorating so more browny points I've 2/3rds of the price stashed for the 47xx now . I'd be happy to go to 0 gauge but CBA to tear up the 00 layout and flog it I've got an Indian hill railway in 009 idea in the back of my mind at the moment as an addition 2 or 3 level shelf layout.
  14. Phillipus you could get one of these it leaves a fine dust cutting polystyrene much like sawdust and it's useful for other jobs too. (Make sure the blades are in the box if you get one) This is a cheap jobbie you could go overboard and get a Bosch proffesssional for £229 https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb752htl-300w-multi-tool-230-240v/8298x
  15. Mike you can't patch grout you need to dig all the old stuff out with a grout rake make sure everything is spotlessly clean then re-grout use a grout pusher to force the grout right into the gap, silicones don't take to being patched remove all the old stuff use a silicone remover to clean up after silicone has been removed to do a bath properly it should take at least a couple of hours steamcleaning the bath or shower tray as well.
  16. Thanks for the likes, I was an installer of kitchens & bathrooms for many years they were a good earner along side the home maintenance side of my business when tiling you need to take you time, prep the area being tiled, work out your pattern and use the correct tile cement, Bal Cement or Wickes were my prefered ones or the quick set stuff you mix up for the armour plated porcelain heavy weights use a good qulity tile cutter, other cutting tools and drills. My neighbour took 4 hours and 4 drill bits last week end drilling holes for a blind in his bathroom proper diamond cutting drills which cost a fiver would have saved him 3 hours and 58 minutes time and he was too tight to pay the installer to put the blind up and he also made 3 trips to Screwfix everytime a drill went blunt. yes you can't make it up with this guy. Tony use a very thin smear of this stuff on new non solderd joints and it should never leak. https://www.screwfix.com/p/fernox-jointing-compound-400g/21548
  17. This is the best size tile to use it took 30 to do the whole kitchen, the photo was when I was part way to finishing the kitchen off 2 years ago.
  18. My daughter lives next door to a ex Hermes courier she's as nutty as a fruit cake what does that tell you.
  19. Her has released me from any further work today as long as the mess is cleaned up that will take an hour big deal I say, she is now pottering in the garden again I found out what was having the carp knocked out of it there is one of her lovely custom built planters I made for her smashed to #### , as for the mess its still there as I need a hand to shake the big dust sheets out. spose I better get on as I need lots of browny points for my pending new Heljan 47xx.
  20. Some tells me you were which you have denied in the past, your sounding bitter again cheer up matey.
  21. Her has hauled me out of bed on the dot of 8am we start our marathon decorating job as we are open plan it's stairs, landing, lounge, dining room and hallway some laying of sticky floor and carpet protector has been done as she was in a rush she started to put this down last week it was funny to watch her wrestle with the sticky rolls the language was also choice as she didn''t follow the instructions and threw more away than she put on the floor. We have had breakfast and I'm waiting to use the bathroom she's been in there for a half hour now so we might get started lunch time.
  22. I've a Cotswold built kit that needs remotoring too so the new one might save me the effort of doing it should it be up to scratch at first view it's all fixable and it's something I would decide and ignore others who tell us there are thing wrong when they are not specific it does appear that they really don't know what they are taking about Mike, Coachmann & Ivan thanks for your imput.
  23. Her.... what are you doing today I'm cleaning the garage and removing the storage heater from the landing. Her.... I'm going to do some gardening so don't get in my way. I cleaned the garage and sweep all the saw dust off the floor from doing the flooring job inside the house, the garage now done I collect up the tools for the next job Her walks into the garage with shoes caked in mud and leaves a trail of mess across the floor and says to me whats up. I really do dispair somedays and was thinking of writing a TV comedy about her antics I'd make millions as you could not make it up. Now I have finished all the chores I've retreated to the cave while she is beating the carp out of something in the garden .
