  1. Never understood that myself… Roy
  2. Patience Danny, Accurascale will tell us when they are ready, and Model Rail Scotland is nearly here… Roy
  3. Or buy shares on the real thing like me… Unashamedly promoting the A1aLocomotives and Type 1 Locomotive Company 😃 Roy
  4. Yes, but I doubt it will be the only model in a batch which is the point being made by @CazRail Indicative of a third batch coming at that point. Roy
  5. Well, only when you stick an orange stripe on it!😉 Seriously, lovely loco and I hope it sells well. Me, I wait patiently for some mid-80s 37/4s without the stripe. Roy
  6. And to be fair to all, I also had it on an SLW Class 24. Roy
  7. Well, that is the sort of comment that will lead to less information being imparted to us… Roy
  8. I know I have said it before, but it is such a shame that Heljan seem to have modelled a single cab front spacing for the foot steps, and it is, in my opinion, the less common spacing. Gives the face a pinched look. Roy
  9. I assume that is an “experiment“ plate under the cab window? I know someone must have, but it is something I don’t recall ever seeing modelled. They were so common in the past. Roy
  10. The state of the turbo can also play a big part on how two “identical” locos can sound different. Roy
  11. Used to be a few depots where you could get in if you bought a tin of cat food for the depot cats. Tyseley was one I recall and I think Motherwell was another. Roy
  12. Mostly Autumn: Studio 2 Perfect listening while taking my son to work this morning. Roy
  13. You are not the only one. My 37405 for which I paid the final instalment in Nov 2023 still only shows as partially paid. I will also contact support on Monday. Roy
  14. Not quite true, if you use a range of suppliers for a specific purpose, you can list that purpose, not the specific entities. The examples given in the guidelines specifically talk about payments and delivery. Roy
  15. Depends what was in the Ts&Cs that you agreed to. If they stated that Hattons could share your details with third parties for the purposes of paymenys znd shipping, they may already be covered. You already get shipping notifications from some companies that show what you are receiving and some payment methods list the goods when you pay. Roy
  16. Given the price difference is minimal and that the Imperium 3 is sometimes cheaper, go 8 function as you may wish to reuse that later. Roy
  17. Over kill or future proofing? When I was trained as an apprentice electronics engineer, more years ago that I care to remember, I was always taught to consider future expansion. Yes, the bean-counters would say that was over engineering, but in reality it paid for itself more times than not. Roy
  18. Although, as has been discussed, not an issue if that layout is designed and built with power districts that spread that load. My branch / depot layout which is 22ft long x 2ft has six districts, each with their own supply and cut-outs. Two of those are for the depot section, one each for the two boards that make up the station and approach and 2 for the fiddle yard. I use these on each district, each of which have their own 5A power supply with the cut out triggering at 3A: https://www.merg.org.uk/merg_wiki/doku.php?id=kits:57 I have not had and do not envisage having issues. Roy
  19. The linked page at Rails states “Models expected to be released along the rest of the Class 60 range towards the end of 2024.” Roy
  20. Accurascale’s is A1A-A1A, Bachmann’s is, for some strange reason, all wheel drive. Not seen wheel sizes quoted. Edit: Accurascale’s is still all wheel pick-up. Roy
  21. Kernow listing them as 21 pin. Roy
  22. The Cavalex 56 is no different to any other modern standard loco in that the standard lighting that works on just F0 will not work. Old spec locos had the front light and rear lights wired together, but that meant you could not control them separately. Convention has brakes and horns on F2, F3, F4 these days. Up-thread the Aux numbers for each light are listed and you need to map these to the keys you want, or use the default mappings as your decoder provides for, working out what F key is mapped by default to which Aux. Granted, some more info on the clever ESU onboard stuff would be helpful. Roy
  23. For sound the Accurascale version wins hands down on price in my opinion, the speaker set-up looks far superior and I didn't see mention of Hall sensors for flange squeal in the Bachmann spec. And all for about the same as the high-street price of a sound fitted Bachmann 31. And that is before Accurascale give you points worth 3% back which makes if cheaper. Roy
