  1. It's going on for some time yet. Possibly a second set with top and tail 68s
  2. Well done Tim, I know diabetes isn't good but it's better than cancer
  3. You can't see where it was at all. Until it was resignalled a couple of years ago platform 6 was still officially shown as PF which meant permissive for freight. I always stopped and questioned a subsidiary aspect into 6
  4. I'd never realised the goods went round the back of what is now eastcroft , I went past it every day for about 3 year until 2005
  5. Very interesting pictures Dave, is the 20 coming of the remains of the Melton line?. How far did that go then.
  6. It looks a bit tall to me, and those plastic sides reminds me of a matchbox garage I had as a kid!
  7. Why have they given the 8f 'overhead wire' lamp iron positions only to put the top one back which is the one that is the problem?
  8. I think as a 154 it did for at least a time have three cars. When it was rebuilt back to a 150 it had its braking system replaced, as built it had two pipe air PBL then westcode electronic EP system. This I feel was a retrograde step as the PBL system only required an adaptor coupler to be hauled by a loco with fully operational brakes You can tell if it has PBL brakes as two air valves are visible on the coupler heads. There are three car 158s by the way
  9. That looks excellent Pete,i see your favourite vehicle is in on the act again!
  10. Yea, the coaches have through jumpers and regulating air pipes
  11. Excellent once again I've never seen a blue met cam with orange cantrail strip before
  12. Sometimes I think MLI is a bit lacking in detail just a collection of pretty decent pictures. For example it mentions that 870 was proposed for ETH fitment and that it wasn't possible but doesn't tell you why. Also it says the first 3 D800s were non multi, but they were multi equipped for working with each other and last rant it say the 4 air pipes on D600s buffer beams were all engine control pipes (?) . Two were main reservoir pipes but are the other two regulating air pipes? Not a bad magazine I just wish there was more reading in some of them
  13. The lights are a continental version,gb had some like it
  14. During the past twenty years or so a Freightliner service may have started to use the line to serve the south Midlands freight terminals
  15. The light clusters are different and the EWS ones don't have the bodyside door in the engine room
  16. NSE 119s Oxford Cambridge?, Turbos later, or 156s 158s on Norwich Oxford? In more modern times it could have become a cross country service
  17. That electric is an interesting little machine,is that similar to the ones that ran in dorman Long's? In the second lot Toadmoor tunnel ,where that 170 is I hit a large tree there with a pair of 20s. The tree slipped down the hill as on the railway children, but this time jenny agutter wasn't at the other end of the tunnel waving her underwear about!
  18. Some rustolium is too textured.. I've built a double version of the bridge you have and sprayed it with rustolium stone texture. I think it's not a bad rendition of 1930s concrete. I still have complete weathering and trackwork on this section
  19. By he looks young! Mind was a driver at 21 and probably looked a bit odd driving steel trains with pairs of 37s. (Especially with a mullet and mustache!)
  20. They can't be real the don't have white shirts and red neckerchiefs like preserved railways seem to think steam drivers dressed!
  21. Yes,you used to have inter yard engineers trains that would move anything between yards. There were workings between Tees and Tyne for example that would move odd wagons that had been outshopped from Thornaby and shoppers going the other way. There were workings like this all over the country.
  22. One was found chasing a fire engine and been followed by an aeroplane on a small circular track on Scarborough seafront, the other was in the entrance to Morrison's on a short plinth , playing music and rocking about if you put 10p in it!
  23. When working a freight train it's in the rule book to periodically look back at the train, with a 90 this is impossible
  24. Pete ,don't buy any yet. I made a four gate hybrid out of ratio and peco parts if I can find them you are welcome to them
