  1. Excellent again! The canopy valences are very similar to Saltburn, I wonder if it was an NE region design? Was the choice influenced by last nights happy valley as the station featured on there with two ballast trains in the platforms
  2. No worries Pete, I bought enough stuff to make 3 last year in Wells. I'm still off work at the moment so no rush
  3. You should have popped over here I'd have made you a static Grasser. If you want one I've got some spare bits?
  4. Well it seems to me announce something so outlandish that half the population think that it's a waste and the other think it's fantastic . All the projects are just nice proposals not absolutely necessary for the country, so when Gideon cancels them in a year or two the original half that were against think he's good and as they weren't that important to the country nobody notices!
  5. During this period of austerity why is crossrail two so urgent when they have Thames link still being improved? IF they must spend money on things in London how about a freight route to take Thames corridor freight away from the north London to the various lines to the north on West so getting rid of lorries which no one seems to want to do these days!
  6. I've built a few of the corridor ones, very easy. I sprayed the roofs, but you don't have to. Got mine in monk bar models, excellent value for money
  7. When I was a kid I was a book lad in the boxes on the NYMR. At Grosmont is was the book lads job to do the gates. The more conscientious motorists would always stop before the smaller second set of gates as it used to be. Today if I do gates on the railway I'm always very careful as a lot of motorists don't care. I threw a gate at a van as he wouldn't wait until I'd opened both sets to road on a four gate crossing
  8. Isn't it in the highway code somewhere that you always stop before the first track if the exit isn't clear. The signalman stopped the barrier before it hit her car, he can see her car on the CCTV. It's 100% her fault. I hope she gets a ticket. The papers always make something of stuff like this, blaming the railway just because she has a kid in the car. So on that, if she'd done this on an automated crossing such as an AHB she could have caused a fatal derailment. A murderer! So to speak, you wouldn't leave your kids with one of those would you. So lock her up,kids in care and demolish her house....job done!!
  9. 66s are probably the worst loco to be stuck on ,I was stuck for half an hour at a signal in primrose Hill and it was awful. Infact I said to the signalman much longer and I was leaving it!
  10. One of the supposed reasons for closing Woodhead was Thatcher's lot wanted to use it for a motorway... http://www.pathetic.org.uk/unbuilt/m67_manchester_to_sheffield_motorway/
  11. Mine download it,I think, but it gets a task bar about 1/4 saying preparing to install and that's as far as it goes. I've even left it overnight. Any clues would be good Cheers
  12. Is that supposed to be LNER coronation livery?
  13. I think the bogies on these coaches could be rotated 180deg and there were mountings on the bogie for triang tension locks
  14. Excellent pictures Dave, the NYMR ones seem like yesterday. Your dad could have got arrested back in 79 for the last sellafield one, they were always paranoid that the Russians would want pictures like that!
  15. I was thinking that there were steam services there in the 80s but couldn't remember their name. I'm pretty sure the BCK is a support coach
  16. I looks like it says no locomotive crew I'm no expert on the area ,but could it be Stratford on Avon on the truncated Cheltenham line?
  17. When I saw this I thought the driver from Stafford was back on the mainline! That coach doesn't seem to be all it seems. There isn't much blue above the windows and certainly no yellow, though I'm not sure if any BCKs got downgraded
  18. See what Dave has in busses, I popped in to see him last week and picked up a Bristol MW with a Cromer destination. A bit off your area but he has allsorts
  19. Glad it's all started and appears to be going OK. How did you get all the fish out?
  20. Thats probably best as from the modest income from them would be completely insignificant compared to a potential law suit in the event of an incident. This would be irrespective of whether it says at your own risk on the pass. A few years ago a car hit a spectator on a rally stage at Scarborough. On your ticket and on signs everywhere it says 'motorsport is dangerous you watch at your own risk' but this didn't stop the spectator suing the driver and the organisers. I don't know the result
  21. I spent last Friday afternoon sitting in the box at Weybourne. It was the NNR gala and they still sell lineside passes. But I said to my mate who is a director that these should be stopped. There were idiots all over and because they had a yellow vest even God was answerable to them!
  22. Thanks, I haven't been well for the last year hence lack of progress. I'm hoping to recommence work shortly. First job which I have done a bit recently is finish the wiring and get it running on DCC. Then signalling which as it will be quite complex will not be working but posable It's 66-68 so a VR would be a bit early
  23. I remember them although they didn't have the overhead power feed at Levisham
