Stepped aboard a Scotrail 158 bound for Inverness with a sigh, thinking no connectivity as only the newer units have Wifi. However I'm very pleased to see that free Wifi has reached even these sets! Bravo Scotrail!

Note to self. Next time you install a sound chip double check it's not upside down before applying power - the burning smell is a bit of a giveaway....

Just rigged up the test layout with a Bachmann EZ command system to try this new fangled DCC with a sound fitted 37. Very impressed, the play value alone is worth it - just like being 7 again (first train set).

Just spent a very frustrating couple of hours trying to fit a smokebox dart and some new handrails to a black five. Argh!

I've had it for 3 days but I'm still gazing lovingly at my new P2, that and a few other Scottish locos has made it an expensive yet satisfying week.

Really liking this months Bachmann calender image - a view close to my heart. Last month wasn't bad either, and rather appropriate bearing in mind the loco it represents.
