AIUI you have to cut the handrails to release the chassis as well.
Do a search of the threads here for the Hattons 14xx/48xx/58xx...there are a few and the info is there. Sorry I could not be more help.Khris

If I am correct I think the C&L one. (RHS top pic)

That was going to be my first thought as well.
Seems the most obvious if all was OK before!Khris

Thame also had one. A small one, which I have yet to chase up details of.

What's " The Green world stuff " please?

Julie, a couple of things spring to mind.
You should be able to get thinner foamcore.
You can also get Palight which I think might be a better option as far as UV stability goes.
If you took that route I would suggest sanding the surface of the palight (to lightly roughen it) then scribing the sets etc into it.
Just some thoughts you could consider.

Personally, from what I can see in the pic I would think a light coating of whatever colour you have used on the foreground track, would just about tie it all together quite nicely!
-
WOW!
I for one am really impressed. I think because you have the colours matching and blending to the scenery of the layout.

In 2011, the best half and myself did the trip of a lifetime to the UK. Timed for York amongst other shows. There was a chap there, demonstrating signwriting PO wagons and also lining of the coaches of which you speak.
No idea of his name but he made it look so easy.
He was using a long haired brush that just flowed.......like signwriters used to use all those years ago, except smaller.

Hi Steve,
For the uninformed....The bricks from Bob Dawson, where can you purchase them from?

Ray,
Now that there are others at the helm one can only hope things will improve. that said it will still take quite a while for those improvements (if any) show through the system.
As for being produced at a lower standard.....it was supposedly only in the sense of more moulded items as opposed to seperate items as I understood it.
That doesn't excuse the very poor quality control. When you look at all these things you have to wonder whether they are worth supporting.
As you pointed out bringing manufacturing back to the UK isn't going to solve the issues of quality control, and is only going to cost more for the product.
It looks more like accountants are running the show without having any idea what they are doing!

To me, the hills do not look they are that far away that they need to be in the blue/grey range.
Personally, I would be looking towards slightly richer colours, rather than duller.
That said: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

About 30 years ago, there was a guy at The Croydon Model Railway Club in Vic Australia who was doing a layout with superelevation. All the formwork was done in card. He only had a module there where he was demonstrating what he was doing. Looked brilliant! Don't know what ever happened, whether he finished it or not.
Be good to see this progree and will be watching with interest.

Looking good!
From the pics should be an interesting model when completed. As for the double slip....well sometimes despite our best efforts one has no choice but to compromise.
Here on Oz it would not be an uncommon feature in that position.
