Great shot! I've tried and failed many times to get a DC 60. It's not often they travel through Kensington Olympia. Having had a quick squiz on RTT, I assume the Chessington path is not a frequent one?

Maybe it does, it just looked beat up to me but I am no artist.

It received full body vinyl overlays last month as part of DB's "Steel on Steel" campaign.

On 17th August 2022, GB Railfreight 60047 'Faithful' and 60096 'Impetus', working 0D60 Warrington Arpley Sidings to Doncaster Belmont Down Yard, slowly draw up to the signal on the Down Huddersfield protecting Heaton Lodge East Junction...

... and after waiting for 6E26 Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton EFW Terminal and 2I17 Wigan North Western to Leeds to pass over the junction from the Calder Valley line, the pair get the road and move off.

Sorry to go a (little) off topic, but trying to decide on a good prototype EWS liveried 60 for my new layout! So I am needing some help and looking for an EWS 60 that was seen in around the south east between 2010 - 2015. Preferably one that has been on a working from Acton Yard during this time frame.

Any pictures or noted movements much appreciated 😃

I recall seeing 60096 on some of the stone trains to Crawley New Yard, many of which originate from Acton. It was from when I started my daily commute to London, so later than 2011. Here it is a couple of years earlier passing Gatwick in 2007.

Do you have a donor model on hand yet? Variations to consider are EW&S or EWS branding, black light light clusters or yellow light clusters.

Yellow clusters were only seen on some EWS livery machines (no EW&S) and most had maroon side window frames.

60019 has the yellow reflective tape wrapping onto part of the yellow front and EWS gold cabside air vents. It was the first 60 in EW&S.

i currently have EW&S 60026, but happy to renumber and change to EWS branding, also happy to re colour light clusters to yellow if it fits!

The world is pretty much your oyster!

The earlier end of your time frame EWS ones were quite common but by the end you'd be looking at red ones.

60049 did a stint in 2012 working in the Westbury area, which meant it worked services from Whatley to London, plenty of pics of it on Flickr in 2012 with Hanson hoppers in tow. Here for example 6V28 from Dagenham to Acton, forward to Whatley on 6C76. (Link from flickr)

No snowplough at the the no. 2 end, dent and replacement oval buffers at no. 1 end. Extra OLE warning stickers on the side too. Nice and faded too depending when in your 2010 - 15 window you pick.

I do like the Class 60's . There's just something imposing about them.  and that deep reverberating rumble as they go past is great. Never gets boring.

No dates on these but I will try and fins them if needed.

60002 "Graham Farish" with 6F69 Ribblehead-Tuebrook climbing Langho bank on 24/10/22.

A nice steady climb on a greasy rail - especially about 1/2 mile north of this location.

In the true spirit of this thread, over the last few days DB's only operational tug in EWS colours was returned to mainline service. On Friday it took the steel forward from Toton to Boston, then hauled the loaded return from Boston to Wolverhampton. After a weekend at Bescot, this morning it worked the 6E02 Bescot Down Side to Boston Sleaford Sidings 'pig pens', as far as Toton, thus completing a full circuit. Last time it was called upon it failed not too far from Boston on the loaded return…

Seen at Hemington next to the East Midlands Gateway arrival lines, in warm autumnal morning light.

Good to see this survivor performing front line revenue work still - it’s one of my favourite locos on the network today.

DB 60065 - 6E02, Hemington

From my time machine, EWS 60038 working light engine at Barnetby, heading west towards Wraby Junction, on 15th May 2006.

The loco is currently, according to the WNXX UK locomotive database, in the DCR Stored locomotives pool and is located at the former Brush Works at Loughborough.
