  1. Proper job me 'ansome raise a glass ov zider to they !
  2. Oh! Happy day!! Once again, well done to all involved and the hard work which has been undertaken to get the services back.
  3. Now where's that roll of film and my Box Brownie ? Or should I get my wax crayons out again! All joking apart, it was a useful tutorial thank you Andy Regards Grahame
  4. Quite a good panorama, is it behind the spaghetti tree?
  5. Very impressed with these so far, I intend doing similar with 4mm stock. Is the 4mm picture an IKB etch? If you can achieve that standard in 2mm it will look the business to coin a phrase ! Further to the above, can I ask what sort of problems or dissatisfaction was encountered using magnets,I have contemplated that system but untried as yet. Hopefully your bent wire solution will be satisfactory. Regards Grahame

    Payday again...

Agreed, stupid though it is on several items it's still a lovely site to see it hauling a good load behind! Happy buyer
  7. I've just picked up your posts ( so many to look at on this site!) and I am very impressed with all the models which have received that "lived in" look. It can be an emotive subject but I am looking forward to unboxing my stock and giving it the once ( or maybe twice) over when the time comes. Very well done. Grahame
  8. So, that buzzy flying thingy...........did you put in a special word with Q ( James Bonds gadget man) to play with that or is The Gadget Show making a special episode without you knowing ? Interesting update CK thank you. Grahame
  9. Very believable well modelled, and I think it was Knobhead who quoted IIffle Stokes in his praise for your modelling of said tree. Personally I think you have captured the same atmosphere as I.S. with this, and your methods to achieve it are a credit to you.
  10. I've just picked up this posting ( never too late ! ). May I ask if she is finished now? If it's any consolation, mine has passed its 40th birthday and still unfinished! Is it possible to have a wake for a brass kit partially complete ? You seem to have faced similar problems which I have also encountered but once I get my proposed layout up and running this will be one on the agenda. It's a lovely looking locomotive.
  11. Extremely useful tool thank you for taking the time to produce it. Grahame
  12. Hi Rich, Don't worry about adjusting the central pier, it'll all get sorted out when the river rises !!!! Joking apart it's looking the business as they say, I trust you are pleased with it so far.........the answer by the way should be YES ! because it is impressive. Good luck with the turnout motors ! Grahame
  13. Hi Rich Thank you for your input on the subject, I'm very much obliged to you. I'm extremely impressed with the work carried out on the Bristol Temple Meads diorama , which only serves to push me further with learning the software which is now at our disposal, with a view to producing items / scenes etc for my proposals. My background is in architecture / building, having recently take early retirement from Building Control ( I was the nice one ! Apparently ?). I suppose you could put me in the " old skool" Rotrings/ pencils etc. but if there is an easier way to achieve the goal I'm happy to embrace it. I spent part of last week in Bath taking photographs of the Sydney Gardens area and some more measurements of Bath Spa station, which seems to have changed somewhat since the last time I was there surveying the buildings. Once again, thank you for your help on this subject which may be put on the back burner for a short while whilst I get further info and learn new techniques. In the meantime I've just finished erecting some baseboards for a proposed GWR themed layout ( oh! no not another one) around the Edwardian era, and it'll give a chance to " play trains" after many years. Kind regards Grahame

    More recycling?

Thank you MetrOLand, The engine shed was built back in 1992, things and techniques have move on a pace I fear, so I'm looking to improve upon this model. The goods shed was a trial piece last year, having got back into modelling when early retirement was offered. The photos are always a good / cruel way to show up any discrepancy and make me want to improve. Kind regards Grahame
  16. So.......what gave more satisfaction? The track or steak n ale pie! Never seems to taste the same when ya gotta do it yourself.Could have been worse.......sandwiches with curled up corners never seem to fill me up ! Looking good.

    More recycling?

Keep finding more of my older models, seem a bit dated now when compared with those found on the RMWeb! Hmmmmm time to move it on a pace me thinks! Grahame
  18. Found this whilst having a look through my old stuff, so, the question is ........."do I recycle or rebuild?". I want to up my game and whilst carrying on the research and building of Bath Spa I have that urge to rebuild a compact layout of Box Station so I can "play trains" . Ironically I've just see a manufacturer has brought out a model of similar tunnel ! Hey oh, build my own at that price !!!
  19. Has anyone made the Peter K GWR footbridge?

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

Never mind that, has anyone actually managed to *buy* one?

Hi, yes I have ( well it's been paid for! ) and waiting for my mate the postman to arrive with it. I'm looking to put it on a proposed new layout in the offing.

    Box clever or Spa

Some files are too large unfortunately but here's some older models which were dug out of the box. Sorry for the quality. Grahame
  21. Thank you Howard, I've had a look at this software and it seems to be the right one for the job, and I would seriously consider it for use with a laser ( assuming I bite the bullet and buy one!! ) Other options being a Silhouette cutter or having followed Paul Brambrick's blog on the Bristol Train Shed diorama 3D is always an option, so many choices, so little time. Box clever or Spa

Thank you, don't hold your breath! Lots more planning to carry out yet ( and also forward thinking regarding an accurate representation for the colouring of the Bath stonework). I do need to consider a great many other areas which still involves a bit of surveying. Very impressed by the photographs of Bristol train shed in MRJ No. 229 and would like to achieve that standard if modelling. I have only used a laser so far and the thought of understanding the software for 3D is quite daunting but it does excite me !
  23. Most impressed with the detail, may I ask what printer, material and software were used to produce this excellent piece.
  24. Hi Gary I've just picked up on this blog and am admiring the workmanship. It brings back memories spotting with my mates in the 70's and watching all sorts of traction passing through, happy days we're had by all and if we wanted a hit for spotting in London the cost of a return was just £ 1.00 !!! And could be pulled by hymeks, westerns or whatever was on the rota ! Moved away about twenty years ago but this gives the correct impression for anyone who knows the station, well done.
