  1. Hi, just picked up your blog, it brings back memories of when I was a teenager ( don't ask!) , playing football with my mates in Spiceball Park just over the road bridge waiting for the next train- get the books out and see if we'd copped it! Week-end steam specials and sitting in the bay spotting. I was back in Banbury about 8 months ago and noticed how it had changed, however seeing your excellent layout has brought back some happy memories, thank you.
  2. Thank you, it's certainly something else to be a serious contender, to be honest I'm not too bothered about the time element' is it gives me time to listen to the music I enjoy at the same time! Cheers Grahame
  3. Very interesting method , can I ask what the material is you've used.....card/ plasticard ? Enjoyed the video too, but I'd have to put on some Deep House to get me in the groove baby! Cheers
  4. Having travelled to the RM Web day and seeing Diddington for the first time I was very impressed and drawn into the layout as a whole. Very pleased to have seen it and spoken to you about the lighting......looks like Maplins is going to get a visit tomorrow for the LED' strip !
  5. Hi there, Does this remind you of anywhere ? I made it back in 1998 and dug it out for a new layout I'm proposing Hope to meet you at Taunton. Best

    Hornby Star Class

Hi, like you I was disappointed so I called Hornby and asked for two separate sets of replacements for both of my models. Roll the film forward about three weeks! Having gone out to Dawlish Warren for the day to watch Sir Nigel Gresley I came home late evening to find a courier package left just inside my porch. My initial thought when I picked it up was how light it felt and couldn't remember ordering anything. So upon opening the package I found a well taped cardboard box inside ( about the size of a OO gauge wagon box ). I duly opened it and found lots of packaging polystyrene together with "one" set of axles !!!! (Not the two I'd asked for). Ok, so thanks to Hornby I can now replace at least on front bogie with these but, overkill or what with the packaging ? Goodness knows how much it must have cost them to get these to me. Having said that I am grateful to them, so don't be surprised when yours arrive! Regards

Need I say more!!! Happy modelling chaps.........from one who knows.......been there done that, now it's when I want to how I want to and where I want to Happy days ( no offence intended )
  11. I've heard that Sir Nigel Gresley will be the first chartered locomotive to travel along the Dawlish route on the 10th April, can anyone confirm this?

  22. Quite a good panorama, is it behind the spaghetti tree?
  23. Very impressed with these so far, I intend doing similar with 4mm stock. Is the 4mm picture an IKB etch? If you can achieve that standard in 2mm it will look the business to coin a phrase ! Further to the above, can I ask what sort of problems or dissatisfaction was encountered using magnets,I have contemplated that system but untried as yet. Hopefully your bent wire solution will be satisfactory. Regards Grahame
