Hi David. I've posted here as I didn't want to hijack the 03 thread. I'm interested as to how you added the pick ups to your 03 as I've tried to do the same to an early Bachmann/mainline chassis and struggled to solder anything to it.
Regards.

There's a special place in hell for people whose eyes are glued to their devices while walking along. And for people who cycle/drive while on their device. And for cyclists who cycle on the pavement.
But the most special place in hell, right between Satan's butt cheeks, is reserved for the total a-hat who was on his device, while cycling in the dark, without lights (except the one emanating from his screen) in a pedestrian area. Of course, neither of his hands were anywhere near the handlebar, or brakes.

I do believe that some people have yet to master the concept of average speed cameras.

Is bereft of a railway
Over the weekend I began dismantling my layout to allow me to move to a new room in the house.
As I've been a little depressed and it will be some time before I see any new layout forming I've put all my stock back into their boxes.
Oddly as I was putting the stuff away I did think if I should be swapping out the Kadees for their original couplings. It was almost as if I was resigned already to selling my OO stock and bringing my N gauge back into use.
Not sure how I am feeling at the moment so no rash decisions and I've plenty of space for storing both the N gauge and OO stock.

Fundamental mistake, not binning the boxes when you are sure the new model runs OK. I have been refitting original couplings and finding the original boxes to stock to put on eBay for a friend who is downsizing his stock. Some of its Kitmaster and Triang and he stuck little notes of when locos were serviced inside the bodies, I found a June 1979 one last evening. Trouble is its worth sod all, and only worth half sod all without the original couplings. Should have flogged it back when he stopped using it. Trouble is sell the stock and you could find wife/ partner what ever decides the railway room would make a lovely office/ knitting room/ gymn and you find yourself taking up crochet or fly fishing or Maurice Dancing. Its a slippery slope.

One has to wonder who decides what music to play while they keep you on hold....

Oh dear. Dismantled the layout. No where to run trains. What have I done?

Anyone tried the new Greggs vegan sausage roll yet.

Will this year be the year of my layout?

I'm working on a loco chassis whilst Madam is assembling flatpack furniture for her mam and dad, well she is a master joiner's daughter and knows how to wield a screwdriver..;..

Yodel is just so incompetent it's beyond belief. Waited in all day yesterday for a returns pickup and they told the seller the parcel wasn't ready or wrapped for pickup, how would they know if they didn't even turn up.

I'm watching those involved with the shop opposite strip the last of the fixtures and fittings before final closure. A fancy Italian clothes shop around here was probably doomed before it even opened, but that doesnt make me any less sad for those involved, particularly not the young woman whose business it was.

I've just voted, does that mean in 2 years time, if I don't get the answer I want, I get to vote again

Arranging to replace a pair of expensive tyres that have worn quickly. Told by tyre supplier that a second set of tyres never lasts as long as the factory original set! Don't think I agree, what do others think?

Probably not the original spec in which case the supplier is right. Check the alignment, don't get someone else to do it, where did the tyres wear, inside, outside, middle, outside = too much toe in, occasionally too little camber: inside = too little toe in or too much toe out. or occasionally too much camber, middle too much tyre pressure. You can have any of these while staying in manufacturers specs.
If the steering wheel isn't straight when going straight or the car pulls...

Why is there a market for alcohol free gin and why does it cost more than regular tax/duty paid gin? mind boggling right now

Given the work required to make a Heljan 14 usable on DCC, I consider this model not of merchantable quality.

Who knew that "Sallsberry" Cathedral was so popular in Russia?

Withdrawn: Sodor Railways No2 Edward and No4 Henry 4-6-0 have been withdrawn from TTTE. No1 Thomas is being exported from Sodor for overseas use. Replaced by new locomotives Nia and Rebecca. Should we set up a preservation group ? https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/whats-on/tv/thomas-the-tank-engine-has-been-given-a-huge-multicultural-makeover-1-8623346

Acquired a copy of Country Railway Stations: Victoria, Part 3. I now want to model Australian railways!

I think the new-look RMWeb should have a section for the erudite discourse on the subject of Art.

I see two un-extraditable Russians have been charged with the Salisbury nerve attack. At times like this I wonder: whatever happened to Adolf Eichmann....?

Trying to create a semi-original track plan for a shunting layout. Each idea ends up looking like someone else's!
