Today’s itinerary included an A318 and an A319. Whilst transferring I saw a Concorde, 7 A380s and no 747s. At the destination was a Lockheed Constellation with its distictive triple tail! (Lots of other stuff too but did not take note.)

A lousy day's weather saw a good deal of progress on the layout - well on the way now!

When you absolutely stink the house out with melted resin and she says "it doesn't smell too bad" you know you've chosen the right wife.

East Lancashire Railway attacked by vandals http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-40742336 Another one? Really cannot see the attraction is such a thoughtless and destructive act. Why preserved railways?

Was advised today that the cause of a almost flat battery on my car is the "Smart" technology that it has fitted. Apparently this stops the alternator from spending too long charging the battery because that saves fuel. This happens even when the charge is low owing to short journeys. Smart? PAH!

just a heads up on facebook there is someone claiming to be from Love productions [the people who make great British bake-off] posting in model railway groups wanting to enlist modellers in a project to build the worlds biggest model railway for TV, it makes no sense so you'll most likely spot it, no idea what their end goal is

There are many catalysts for wanting to kick-start stalled layout construction: an inspirational layout thread on here, attending a show... but receiveing my Hattons 14xx yesterday has put a rocket up my motivation. I no longer want a secondary GWR main line, I want a... GWR BLT!!!
