  1. Twist the centre unit to unscrew it (quarter turn) and remove and clean the washer. Chances are it's just worked loose and needs tightening up, hence it not sealing.
  2. It has no place on the statute books in its current form because it is a badly constructed piece of legislation. Nothing to do with class either, just belongs in a different century. Absolutely correct. We had one hunt near us which ran "coporate saddles" turn up with enough money and you could ride, this isn't pest control. One skilled man with a gun can deplete the fox population far more effectively. The end of a hunt is the ripping apart of an exhausted fox by a pack of hounds, they are bred and kept in conditions that keep that instinct, that is not Hyperbole but fact, denying that is what happens means you either have no idea what you're talking about or you just like to troll. We have a large amount of travellers in the area. They define their "Culture" as taking children from education at 11/12, street fighting, hare coursing and numerous other anti social activities. I don't think we should tolerate behaviour such as this either. Troll.
  3. Both groups seem to forget that respect is earned, not just given because of some perceived status. As for youth, I help with a bit of fundraising for the Scouts in town and my wife is involved with the ATC and the reality is that there are far more young people giving to society than are given credit.
  4. I understand your point but don't agree with it. A majority, is a majority even if only 1. In a referendum If there were to be a bar of say 60+% before a result was enacted then you'd have a majority of the population very unhappy that they were being ignored. There is already enough apathy with voters who don't think their vote counts under the FPTP system, that to apply that to a simple yes/no vote would turn even more off of voting if they didn't think their vote counted.
  5. Turning that on its head, I was too young to vote in the 1974 referendum but have had to live with its decision. It's called democracy. On a point about younger people voting, my wife is a Town councillor (Independant non political Town council) and we're always trying to get them to vote, but time again the reply is along the lines of "I forgot" or "I was busy", and sadly for the majority I've spoken to about the referendum result and who are unhappy about it, only a small percentage actually voted. Quite what you do when the deadline to register was extended and it wasn't as if you could miss what was going on is anyone's guess. I do remember watching BBC Question Time about 6 months ago where there was a "youth representative" on the panel who was very critical of the leave vote, part way through she admitted that she didn't actually vote and had abstained. The general concensus at work was that she could be unhappy about process but not the decision, as given the chance she did not to take part in it.
  6. Doesn't really matter, it's a photoshopped image.
  7. Could you further define "Moderately" .......
  8. A small correction, it wasn't "BR" but the "British Transport Commission" it also had nothing to do with "having a free reign" we just did not have the money to be able to import large numbers of expensive locomotives into this country as we were carrying a huge amount of debt from WW2. Currency had to earned from exports not lost to imports. It was similar for shipbuilding, during the 50's and early 60's we were reliant upon home produced ships but the yards did not invest when times were good, and so when restrictions were lifted purchase moved abroad to more modern yards.
  9. One of those dancers on Strictly come dancing.
  10. Will the Goat have a saddle ?................it's got to have.... Livery..
  11. One of the first elected mayors was Bedford which was a L party policy, he happened to be a local independant rather than who they thought would be a shoe-in. He then broke up the old County Council into 3 Unitary authorities that haven't worked properly since
  12. Try this http://www.s-r-s.org.uk/html/lmsr/M209.gif
  13. Nice to see a picture of 'Shannon'*** (WTC No 5) Don't remember seeing that at Pendon before, although thinking about it, it's quite some time since I've been there. Better put it on the "To do" list again. *** Shannon is the original locomotive from the Sandy & Potton Railway of 1852, absorbed into the Bedford & Cambridge and then the LNWR.
  14. Thats the camera fooling you its definately slates over lead. The really small pieces are just the way the headlap works out against the pitch of the roof where it intersects with the valley. I've a couple o lads can fix it for a grand when they finish pony and trap racing..............
  15. I guess they let the tyres down.
  16. That's a regular valley with 6 inches of lead showing so that water flows easily, what you can't see is the lead extends under the slates 6 inches on each side. Slates are fixed to 1 inch thick battens and the valley boards are 1 inch thick so there is very little between them, concrete tiles have a more pronounced gap and have to be pointed up along the valley.
  17. Not for piles it doesn't.
  18. His........for a moment I thought you were meaning "Mad Nad" in the next constituency. After appearing in the Celebrity Jungle prog there were moves to deselect her from one of the safest seats in the country, she'd annoyed so many within her own party that they stayed away in droves and by default she continues as they couldn't make a quorum. I had the displeasure to meet her at a function and found her the most odious person I'd met for a long time.....and I've attended a fair few model railway exhibitions.
  19. They also would have prepared for the 3 wire system which is now 2 wires. Not so much 'what on earth' but 'where's the earth'
  20. He was a rubbish character in the Peanuts strip.
  21. We were in Malta in March 2016. This is the bridge that brought the railway into Valletta. The station was underground The new parliament building has been built in the square above the site of the station and I'd wonder that it has been utilised in some way.
  22. A list would be appreciated, is it possible to attach it to a post then it could be downloaded? I've got 3 of his kits left to build when I restart wagons.
