395013 named 'Hornby Visitor Centre' at Ramsgate this morning now available to pre-order . . .

Edit: Hornby do not appear at first glance to be doing the extra 2 coaches to make it the full train however?

That link came up as broken, but I did find it here:

As far as I can recall, the railroad version didn’t have the black Band across the length of the windows. This looks like a standard version.

Didn't the Railroad version have standard couplings as well, not the close-couple version that this one is showing?

Some pics from the Hornby stand taken at the Open Day

A bigger event and lot more heritage stock here this time. I'll put up some pics if anyone interested though they're not brilliant as weather rather mixed.

No it still had the close couplings as far as I can see from pictures online

Which of the MANY MN / BoB / WC preserved pacifics was it - Clan Line?

Of the diesels, love the Class 68.

Thanks for sharing the photos - must have been an epic day for you.

Al.

It was No. 35028 Clan Line. There was always a queue to get in the cab.

It is a Class 88 No. 88 007 Electra, not a Class 68.

Other locomotives on display included three Class 73s, Class 37 No. 37 407 Blackpool Tower, a Class 33, two MLVs, a 2 Car EPB and the 6 Car Hastings Unit.

All in all, looks like a grand day out!

But, wait...

Was that the "exciting announcement"?

395013 - Hornby Visitor Centre.  I hope the 013, isn't unlucky for Hornby's sales!

Look at the bright side, at least it weren't a guy from the Liverpool area announcing a new company with a range of crowdfunded models, with excellent detail, leading customer service and sales support......

Regards,

C.

Ok the constant nipping at a certain someone by (at my guess) 75% of this forum is really getting tiring. Surely we can keep discussion of him to the appropriate thread?

It would have been nice to see a non-Railroad Javelin of the Visitor Centre.

Thanks for the extra photos of 'the event'.

I should have seen the roof detail where the pantograph is - definitely 88 not 68.

For today's announcement, I was still hoping for that TPE 802 - 'though I might have been looking at alternative accommodation this weekend had it have been so!!

It is a full-spec Javelin model. Quite clear from the photographs. Atleast the sample on show is a full-spec one.

The TPE Class 802 will probably be seen in 2020
