EBay madness

What a shock, another person who tried to fit mainline trains in a shunting plank of space, got bored/frustrated, and is trying to sell it all at cost.

Id like to point out that the Thomas locos are NOT included in the sale.....THEN WHY PHOTOGRAPH THEM????

I’ve got a better set, and mainly completed, and. I am willing to sell it for £1599. Now that’s a snip! Insert smiley here (for some reason my smilies don’t appear on the message once posted!) Edited by 88D

In description:

"Still a lot of scope for improving and finishing ageing to bring upon to exhibition standard."

Never a truer word......

Also:

"Located 5 miles east of Bath"

Just so happens I'm in Bath for 2 days with work next week, should I get his hopes up? :jester:

Quite a common thing to do in 7mm.....most layouts are end to end and you do indeed get two for one, why not?

I bought one of these at an exhibition the other day for £3 (only wanted the bogies). Maybe I should put the body on EBay - more likely this one’s just been overvalued slightly...

I was thinking more of the Litrea MY which I think date back to mid 1950s.

My Märklin/Lima hybrid is one of those. I couldn't decide which whether I preferred the MY or the MZ, so I solved the problem by having both :)

Heljan do a modell of the MY and the similar MX* in both liveries  http://Heljan.dk/shop/h0-lokomotiver-dc-17c1.html but at 2,495 DKK I shall have to pass.

*The main difference is in the engines I believe

£3 seems about right to me.

Märklin isn't cheap! and all those Chinese lights soon add up....

Valued (I assume cost) €3000, therefore worth perhaps €1500 (on a good day).

In original box. I have only opened this to look at the model.
I simply don't have time to play at the moment.

But not to try to get 3 x the purchase price......

and is that not Andy Y's photo being used too?

I've never thought of madness and greed being much aligned; but they will be coming together here if the thing sells. I think it is dreadful.

Looking at his other not inconsiderable number of sales, both current and previous, why does he keep buying stuff if he has no time to oplay with it?

We haven't had an entry in the 'Awful to the point of useless photo' category for a while either:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/N-gauge-WAGON-Lima-St-Ivel-Unigate-collectable/283300869414?hash=item41f60c3526:g:yqEAAOSwsvZbegrT:rk:25:pf:0

Also, "Collectible" (unless it is by a couple of chaps from your local Council in a huge lorry to take it away to landfill) it most certainly isn't!!
