RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted September 30, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 30, 2018 So another JGA wagon is almost complete bar the airbrush weathering. I am really enjoying doing these, they really come together with some details added and the weathering sorting out. I have included a pic with one I have done versus how it started out factory weathered. I hope you agree it’s an improvement. Thanks for looking in.
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted October 19, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 19, 2018 (edited) Bit of a today’s workbench update. A pair of Bachmann JGA’s re-livered into DB Schenker livery. Just need varnishing, derailing, re-build and weathering. One is for sale once completed. 60100 in big DB livery. Matt varnish, detailing and weathering required. Finally 60095 in GBRF livery. Looks great already. Better update next week (week off). Edited October 19, 2018 by Andy7 12
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted November 10, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2018 (edited) I have been making an alternative JGA wagon type to compliment the Bachmann offering. The first wagon is nearly finished. Based on the chassis of the Bachmann JGA with lots of mods. I have retained the weights as body to chassis fixings and the massively modified bogies mount on the original points. The wagon is very strong and it really looks the part. It’s been fun and not too taxing but requires plenty of specialist equipment to make in metal like mine. I can’t wait until it’s in primer at the weekend. Just needs all the pipes and hand rails bending and fitting (Friday night job). Any comments most welcome. RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted November 13, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 13, 2018 I have finally completed one end and side with detailing bits. Just the lower ladder to fit. I will do the other end and side tomorrow. It’s looking really nice now. On Friday it will be in primer when it will really show how it looks. Hope you like. 6

RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted November 27, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 27, 2018 Bit of an update. Wagon mostly painted. Still needs the white stripe at the top and the appropriate black panels or roadstone text adding along with other decals. Then fade the paint a bit and weather. I have also started on the second one. Really good little project that captures the looks great. 16
Afroal05
Andy, just had a long overdue catch up on your work (not been on RMWeb in about 9 months) and WOW! The weathering and that wagon construction looks absolutely superb. Looking forward to seeing more! Alex
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted December 2, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 2, 2018 Andy, just had a long overdue catch up on your work (not been on RMWeb in about 9 months) and WOW! The weathering and that wagon construction looks absolutely superb. Looking forward to seeing more! Alex Thanks very much Alex. It’s my main focus at the minute to get the JGA roadstone rake to a decent length. I have all the wagons required they just need major surgery or a lot of work weathering and detailing. Then they will all need need loads adding. Literally an endless list of stock and locos to work on. Not complaining though. Keeps me busy.

Ha, yes I think I'm acquiring things for the workbench faster than I can finish them... I look forward to further updates. Alex
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted December 11, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2018 So the first curved JGA wagon is fully complete (minus its load). I have also completed 4 standard Bachmann JGA’s in RMC livery. Another 3 are nearly complete leaving 2 to start and 3 more curved ones to build. I will also run these with my DB SCHENKER one making a total of 14. They are sat on my display case which puts them in the correct scene making them look very impressive. Anyway hope you like. 18
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 12, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 12, 2018 Hi Andy. That JGA hopper certainly looks the part. Etched kit beckons? Cheers. Mick
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted December 12, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 12, 2018 Thanks Mick. It would certainly make a good kit along with the 3rd type of JGA. I’m sure one day someone will do it, Andy
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted January 26, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2019 Finally finished off GBRF 60095 with all the Bogie details picked out, driver added and wire loop couplings added. The livery really suits the big 60. I have also been prepping a 50 to become 50007 in GBRF colours, just need the real one to be started on now. I have also been doing a fair bit of weathering of locos and these are nearing completion (pics when complete). As always a 1000 other items on the to do list.

dj_crisp
Your 60 looks excellent. Being a purist I'm not entirely taken by the the idea of 50s in GBf but admittedly I reckon they'll look pretty good and the livery will suit them. cheers Will
Cherrham Junction
Nice work on the 60. Looks really good in that livery. Look forward to seeing the 50 next!
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted April 17, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2019 Loads going on but not many pictures. This weekend I will update properly. For now you have some pics of my first of a rake of 14/15 DB HRA wagons. This is a chopped up HTA just like the real thing. More of an update at the weekend. 14
Steadfast
Nice work on the HRA Andy. Good attention to detail with the staggered strips over the join Jo
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted April 17, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2019 Thanks Jo. Interestingly the actual join is the other end of the wagon and the strips are on a clean surface.

RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted September 23, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 23, 2019 Well yet again a massively overdue update is required. I have been doing lots of modelling but not taking many pictures. Anyway hopefully I can get more updates from now on. A few pics of my latest almost complete personal projects. 57305 in its current mainline guise as used by The Rail Operations Group and the first of the pair of barrier coaches it will pull along with 47813 (in paint at the minute). The loco was a nice easy job and I’m extremely happy with it. The coach has taken a good while longer and I have done all the patch painting on both sides as it is seen on the mainline today (will take some better pictures). They just need a light dust with the airbrush on the under-frame. Hope you like and will have further pics of the other coach and 47813 soon. 13
Jack374
Great work Andy, they look superb. Having seen the real thing a few times it’s good to see it in model form. IIRC the other ex-Northern Belle 57 (312) is currently in Eastleigh Arlington's for a repaint, probably similar to the 47s. Keep it up! Jack.
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted September 23, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 23, 2019 Thanks Jack. I did know it was in for a repaint. Was very keen to do one of them in ex northern belle. Think as a train with this pair of barrier coaches and 47813 it is interesting on the eye with the various liveries going on. Can also add in some of my FGW/GWR or when they arrive MK5 Transpennine coaches.
