Andrew P
Hi All, well not much of an update and that's because I've been doing loads of wiring for the Point Motors and Frogs, (the Frogs werent happy about it, but never mind). I've also been feeding the wires through ready for the Control Panel so that should start in a week or so once I re tested the yard. In the meantime, Clive Mortimer mentioned a few posts back about all my sticking plaster all over the layout. Basically its masking tape over all the holes left from the fitting of Point Motors and Droppers for Bitton and the many incarnations of Whittaker St before ripping them all up to do Pencarne Junction. Here some pics of the underneath to show how I have made the boards lighter by reducing the amount of wood, hahhaha.

Andrew P
There's a lot to be said for clockwork propulsion...... Hi Peter, I have to agree with that, and I got as much pleasure with clockwork mouse's. And I thought DCC was a two wire system, hahahha I will have about 52 or 58 to the Control Panel.

Marcus 37
Great to see you playing trains again as Al says. Love the video, especially that weathered blue western on the hoods, that really looks nice. Looking forward to seeing you start on the Scenics. Think I may have to deliver those wagons in person so I've got an excuse to come and have a look. Great to have a chat again the other night. Andrew P
Evening all, well I've had a couple of busy days doing a bit of Weathering for a couple of Friends, firstly for Mark some Cov Hops and Cement Wagons. From these To these. These last 2 Grey Cov Hops been re done to reduce the Tiger Stripping at Marks request but I haven't re photographed them but they do look a lot better than these, so Mark was right to ask me to re do them. Then I did another Mates Hymek. From This. To this. Back to work on Pencarne tomorrow.

Andrew P
Ooh. That Hymek looks a treat. Thanks, John wanted ALMOST Ex Works with just a hint of some running hence the very light body side and roof work, he didn't want it to be fussy or over worked. Not my normal style I'm afraid, I like them work stained to a far greater degree.
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted August 6, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 6, 2015 They all look good Andy. I've a number of those cement wagons that would benefit from similar treatment.
RMweb Premium Jason T Posted August 6, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 6, 2015 The Covhops did weather in some odd ways Andy; stripes and full panels of rust are not out of place on them; they definitely didn't just get an overall level of grime. I have three to renumber and weather myself and it's not something I am looking forward too; the one I have done took hours and involved a lot of dry brushing. Yes I looked at several of Paul Bartlett's images for the overall feel of how they should be. Its also strange that when you see a rake of the real thing (as with all wagon rakes) they are all different, but in model form this is exaggerated and looks wrong so they all end up quite similar in many respects.
Andrew P
I also took the opportunity last night to finish a couple of my Fleet, a light dusting along the bottom, (Ohoo naughty) and some oil around the Exhaust ports, final detailing will be done later around the Buffers etc. My mate John fitted the nameplates and decals etc. to the Green Western in exchange for me doing his Blue Hymek above.

Morning Shaun, Thanks for having a look at Pencarne, I really am enjoying it, right from the original planning, then the start of the build and now running so its all looking good for a long term project.
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted August 7, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 7, 2015 To be honest I was wondering what you had been up to Andy. What with all my ailments at present I've just been sitting back running the trains. So relaxing!!
Andrew P
Shaun, running Trains (providing there running properly) can be some of the best medication. I'm far more relaxed now than I was with Bitton and I thought I would enjoy Whittaker St, but after running long Trains on Bitton I wanted that opportunity back again but with more operation.
