Hello

Towcester is all set up and ready to go. See some of you over the weekend on Stand A33

                                                                    Cheers

It is in most halls, this is due to the structural steelwork being earthed which sets up a Faraday Cage. The solution is for the organisers to set up a wireless router plugged into the local telephone extensions.

Regards

However, the NEC will charge a significant fee for use of a local phone line.

There is supposed to be free Wi-Fi within the hall anyway. Need to check that out tomorrow morning

Cheers,

Mick

Well I'm hoping our advance party have finished the initial set up of our club stand (E6 I think) which will just leave the last few bits and bobs to do in the morning.

There may be a few SM42s about if they've left some room.

If you're passing say hello.

Andy

There is free Wi-Fi, of sorts, within the NEC.

You need to sign up for it - quoting an email address - then you get emails every so often, telling you about pay-to-attend events you can book through their Ticket Factory subsidiary, who'd be only too happy to sell you tickets for them (and charge you loads of fees, on top of the "face value" ticket price - which is why I actively avoid buying model railway show tickets through them).

As for the Wi-Fi, I've found it to be rather slow - sometimes a bit intermittent - and I wasn't able to get a signal in Hall 5 when I tried it at a recent trade show.

I was able to get a signal (albeit not brilliant) in Wetherspoons, between Halls 2 and 4 - and in the relaxation area in front of Wetherspoons. This relaxation area might interest some people who've got a lot of time to kill after a show - as there are also a number of free charging points here for phones, tablets, laptops and the like.

Huw.

If you pay on a Friday with a Barclaycard, it's fee free...!

This is a photo posted from the venue before dawn this morning.

I'm going to check the forecast to check which day promises a brighter sky and therefore better ambient light.

Not good weather all weekend. Potential for 50mph winds on Sunday.  Thinking of swapping my visit from Sunday to Saturday.

Hi everyone, I have one spare ticket available due to coming down with the 'flu today, and I don't fancy the journey to NEC from Lincolnshire.

One day advance ticket for The Warley Show 2015, NEC.  Ticket is valid for either Saturday or Sunday.  If anyone is interested please message me and I'll forward the Ticket Factory email with the reference number so you can collect actual ticket from the box office.  it allows early entry from 09.15.  Will accept £10 for it - but don't send the money until after the show, then we'll both know all was OK!

Sorry to post this so late but I thought someone may benefit from a discount early entry (and I won't lose out altogether).

I have also put the ticket on RM Buy and Sell in case it's against the rules to put a for sale on a normal thread.

Edit - UPDATE TICKET NOW GONE, THANKS.  Now back to my sickbed - I'm gutted about missing the show.

Not sure if it is a general feature of Warley, i've only visited once (07 I think) and there was a test-track circuit stand, I didn't get a reciept from one trader but I asked what their returns policy was incase it didn't work (a Bachmann 170) - got it on the test track, dud! Refunded at the show thankfully.

The Model Railway Club test tracks are at Warley again this year - offering N, 12mm, OO/HO, EM, P4, S and O gauges with DC or DCC control.

Having been at the Falkirk show this morning, the fastest news seems to be coming via the web just now!

Hornby have announced two new locomotives, both a feast for LNER and dry side of the country followers - the B12 and the Q6. The Q6 is already at sample decoration stage - see today's Engine Shed at

http://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/news/the-engine-shed/the-warley-national-model-railways-show-special/

And BRM seem to be fastest off with other news from Heljan and Ontracks and Oxford Rail - see at

Model Rail have photos of their USATC with Bachmann at. https://www.facebook.com/modelrail/

Indeed a £400 Dapol A4 in 'OO'. It looks to set a new benchmark for quality in rtr form tho - all have synchro smoke, DCC sound and working lamps. They have the actual models on the stand as well and they look utterly incredible

That's such a bold move. It will be fascinating to see how this goes down.

As you might imagine , at that price there's no way it's on my shopping list. This has got to appeal to the very few at the top end of the market, so I'd imagine low volumes and almost bespoke models for that. However if it panders to those that are willing to pay more and more for their models, then great.
