Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! Rage, blow!

But the show moves ever closer. Road signs erected yesterday courtesy of our esteemed chairman and hopefully are still attached as the new day approaches. Weather moving closer to colder but Thornes Park Sports Hall is lovely and snug when full of people!

Lime Street logistics...........

This morning John R. and I collected our two vans from Intack Self Drive in Blackburn.

Both brand new - done less than 1000 miles in total

M6 and M55 tested their water tightness en-route to St. Annes.

John H. was waiting for us, with new loading instructions for the vans:

and the "Roller Cage":

Once the first "brew" of the day was drunk, the rain had ceased and we got on with loading the Small Van:

Here's the newly boxed Sector Plate panel:

Eventually:

It was all in place.

Each piece of the Pelmet, which incorporates the lighting, has its own tailored travel bag:

The major items were then loaded in the Luton van, as they have on many previous occasions:

It was quite easy to check we hadn't left anything in the Railway Room:

The two loaded vans are now back in East Lancashire for the night.

Tomorrow, John R. will collect Rob from Greater Manchester, John H. will collect Les from Preston and Noel from Burnley, and with luck, we'll all meet up in Wakefield.

See you at the Show.

Steve.

Looing forward to seeing you there as we are neighbours in the same pen for the weekend.  Green Ayre is all crated and the first bits are at the stadium along with the barriers and various things and the two most essential items, the tea boilers.

So it's arrived, as Onslaught 832 has said will the show be better than the thread then there is only one way to find out and of course how successful the club has been in advertising the change of weekend. The weather gods look as is if they are having their three penny worth in sending in some cold weather but from 9 am this morning the erection elves will be busy at work creating pens, supplying electricity from Yorkshire power stations - get it while you can boys, already for the 5.30 opening this evening. If you cannot make today then it is 10 to 6 Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday

Evening opening has closed and numbers holding up very nicely so thank you to everyone for remembering the date has changed. Small crisis when a layout had real rain coming down on it but a quick trip to the local B and Q returning with wood, plastic sheeting and gaffa tape and the layout crew had made themselves a plastic umbrella. Project X attracting a lot of interest and remember it could be yours for £1 by buying a raffle ticket. Drawn 3pm on Sunday.

Looks like it's going to be a snowy, rainy blowy night but getting better during Saturday 10 to 6 and Sun 10 to 5

Good show. a few direction signs might have helped. the unfamiliar. Enjoyed it.

Dava

Thank you for coming. The vomiting bug and the high winds reduced the number of signs that were put up.

Thanks to the Transport Team for their sterling work yesterday in sometimes appalling conditions for ensuring traders and exhibitors were safely parked and unloaded and a special mention to Robert who despite not being fully fit was again back leading the team

Weather forecast is showing cold, wind but a yellow circle with lines coming off it which I recognise as a sun symbol so no reason to put off travelling to the show 10 to 6 today. Remember the overflow car park is just up the road from the Sports Centre on the Wakefield College Thornes Park site

Glad that you enjoyed the show.

There are 25 roadsigns up,on all the main roads into Wakefield.

We have permission from the council to put them up but there are restrictions on where we can position them. Another problem is that there is so much signage on the streets these days that drivers don't always see them.

Thank you for your feedback.

Sadly will not be returning with MrsB she hung on grimly determined to buy me a Christmas present but she was walked through 6 times by people with no spacial awareness whatsoever. She was the thin one with a crutch, me the round fat guy no one stood on walked into or anything else. If I stood in front of her somebody knocked into her back etc it wasn't a lack of space either stood on the edge of an expanse of carpet someone hit her so hard a guy coming the other way went :O.    Had I been alone I would have stopped a lot longer there was a lot more to look at but when you want to give some people a bit of the pain she has it is time to leave.
