Strange how the 88s are delivered fully vinyled and the 68s aren't.

It could just be to do with the 68s been ready to ship in Spain but without their liveries applied. It might be easier to ship without their liveries applied and let DRS get fitters to apply them at Kingmoor. It could also be to do with when the ships dock in Spain. For example if some of the 68s were to miss the ship to be transported to the UK on just because their liveries are not applied it may mean a delay for DRS receiving them in the UK.

I had a day trip to Glasgow on Saturday from Wigan, there sure was a lot of shiny new stuff on Carlisle Kingmoor in the sunshine.

On the return journey I was on the wrong side of the train but was ready to move when the two ladies sat across the aisle got off at Lockerbie. But two teenage girls beat me to it. And they pulled the blind down so I couldn''t see anything.

To make it worse, they put the blind back up just after we passed the depot!

I did hate them for a while there!

Nearest to the mainline should be the latest batch of 88s. These should include 88006, 88007, 88009 and 88010.

It's been reported that 68026 and 68027 have been moved inside the shed to undergo preparation to enter traffic.

As Mick has posted above 88001 and 88002 have been out on test together.

I'm not sure where 88003, 88004, 88005 and 88008 are positioned on the depot.

*Edit*

According to WNXX 88008 and 88003 are stabled in one of the short sidings near to the staff car park and 88004 and 88005 are on the line next to the mainline with the other four 88s.

And I feel guilty for ordering another class 24! What's that little lot cost?!
